Chapter 11

"Right...he still has been quiet...at least it could be considered a good thing. Do you think Megatron will stop this war?" Optimus wished he could say yes, but he really was not sure. "I know he really wants to try and have a relationship with me...I think...but I don't want him to continue this war. I really want to try and understand why he changed from wanting to create a better Cybertron to a power hungry...tyrant."

"I do not know if you will find a truthful explanation, Azura. I don't know why he changed, but...I know he never forgave the high council for rejecting his ideas a long time ago. I know that was part of the reason why he started the war...but as for the other reason, I can only assume Megatron got the taste of power, and he wanted more of it." Optimus knew that only Megatron could answer that for Azura, but he doubted she would ever get an explanation. "I wish I could say I know everything that went on in his mind when he started the war, but I did not. No one ever does, one can only anticipate and go forward. If you are hoping Megatron will tell you his side of the story, he might not do that. I do not know if he will even be given an opportunity to do so. Especially as Megatron has yet to show any signs he wants to end this war."

Azura was hopeful that there would be some point in the future she would be given a chance to have a proper one-on-one with Megatron. He was her sire after all. Azura felt like she was owed a proper explanation, especially if it would forever impact her relationship with him in the future. Azura did not want to be associated with anyone who was bent on causing chaos and war wherever they went, even if she was related to them.

"I know...I can still hope for it though."

Optimus smiled as he knew Azura wanted to know Megatron's side. It was natural for her to feel that way towards her sire, despite the fact he created her for one purpose. But it was a natural curiosity. But Optimus could sense some of his own personality in Azura. She was way too young, of course, but her new born years have been riddled with pain and as she was forced to mature, he could see resemblance to his own personality. Not so much to his personality before he was a Prime, but the personality he had now. He knew it was probably due to the part of the Matrix in her system, but it might not be.

"There is always hope for something to change, Azura. And nothing is impossible, so you may get the chance to know his side. If he does open up, I would like to know it myself. Even if you tell it to me, and not him." Optimus smiled as the doors to his berth room open automatically for him and he proceeded towards the shower room. "As I believe every sentient being has the capacity for change, it is not wrong for you to feel that way. Especially as he is your sire, no matter how you came to be."

"Does it still bother you that I was created to destroy you?"

Optimus was surprised she asked that question. He hoped she wasn't thinking that about her personally. "To a point, yes. Your creation has bothered me for a long time. I watched so many Cybertronians perish with the new sparks that were blasted out and implanted into our bodies. I am still not sure how they managed that."

"It could be a very simple answer, using microscopic particles with genetic material. I could be wrong, but that could be how that happened. It would be the only way to pass through the smallest gap into the body of any mech and femme." Optimus smiled as her scientific theory was unexpected, but it made sense. "Though...it still bothers me. I guess, even though I'd want to know Megatron's story, I still do not know if his interest in a relationship with me is genuine."

Optimus couldn't reassure Azura on that either since he did not know. "Again, I cannot give you a straight answer, Azura. I do not want to give you false hope of things getting better. We at least know that..." Optimus groaned and grimaced as he felt the unsettling feeling of the contents of his tank being churned and he turned towards the sink. "Scrap."
