Your P.O.V.
You were probably about 9 years old.
Being a new student you had no idea who to talk to so, of course, you went to the swing set.
You sat down and began swinging soon reaching high up.
It felt like you were flying and you loved the sensation.
But
It didn't last long.
About a few minutes into swinging you hit a boy in the face.
You immediately stopped swinging and went over to him.
He had beautiful blue hair and looked as though he was knocked out.
Oh dear...
"Um...excuse me? Are...are you ok....?"
You said while shaking him.
With that he quickly sat up and smiled.
"I'm totally fine! Sorry for worrying you!"
Your eyes widen.
"Um...well---"
He gave you his hand.
"I'm Kaito by the way! You must be new!! I haven't seen you around before!"
You took his hand and it got shook vigorously.
"Oh! um....I'm (y/n) (l/n)! N-nice to meet you!"
Kaito smiled brightly.
Blood started dripping down from his nose.
"I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship!"

It had been about 3 years since then.
You and Kaito had started middle school!!
Kaito ended up becoming you're only friend but that's all right cuz he was the best friend you've ever had.
A while into the school year Kaito had confessed his love to Miku.
She turned him down instantly but he thought if he kept trying he'd get her one day.
"She'll be MY girlfriend one day!"
He said while stuffing food in his mouth.
You giggles gently
"Kaito, she's the most popular girl in school. It's gonna be hard to get her to date you."
Kaito sat there for a second before making a silly pose "what, am I not manly/handsome enough?!"
You just started laughing more.
Sadly you were drinking the school milk and a bit came up from your nose.
You're eyes widen and you wipe it off immediately but Kaito saw.
You two stare at each other for a moment before laughing off the hook together.

Another year had pasted and Kaito was gaining more and more popularity.
You, of course, got left behind in the dust awaiting for his return.
A week or two later he came over to the empty table and sat across from you.
"Hey (y/n)!"
"Hi..." You sighed.
Kaito's face was a bit in pain.
"Hey....um...I feel really bad about not hanging out with you. You're my best bud."
You pointed to his friends behind you.
"What about them?"
Kaito sighed.
"Sure they're nice and all but I have the most fun with you. You're my otaku buddy! What am I supposed to do without you??"
You smiled gently as he gave you his dorkiest grin.
Even though you guys hadn't hung out in a while he really was still your best friend.
You couldn't help it.
