"I was a bit nervous I'll admit. That graduation speech I had to do was also one of the reasons I was nervous.." Gray admitted. "Graduation... It's a day I can still recall clearly. From the students lined up in the ceremony, to all the students who had sung our academy's anthem as we were ready to leave the school... and the view of looking down on everyone from the podium while they looked up at me... I remember seeing Vanessa, Harley Jo, and Simon among the crowd as I gave my speech. Besides the familiar faces, it was a day that would leave all of us undergraduates memorable." Besides graduating, it was also a day of reflection.
Years spent in the academy, leaving with all the skills and knowledge they have learned that won't go to waste. To the battlefield they go, where they will fight for their survival and to win against the virus. To bring forth hope while the world falls into ruin.
"The stares are indeed a bit nerve-wracking but the reason makes sense." Gray straightened himself up as he was thinking of their situation.
"Looks like the camp defense will also increase. Lily was ordering people around. I suppose it's to entrust that you both are protected." Echo said.
"A bit uncalled for don't you think?" Gray let out a sigh at the special treatment.
"It may be uncalled for, but to androids, humans are a top priority." Ayla mentioned. "And humans are on the moon remember? It's dangerous down here so of course they'll increase the defenses just to protect even one human."
"What will we do at the moment?" Liv asked Gray.
"For now, the androids think that Sica and I are part of the Council of Humanity." Gray began to think up a plan to come up with for their current predicament. "I reinforced that idea by saying we were here on the surface and I needed to discuss something urgent with you all. At the moment, we will simply act as if we're members of the council to ease any questions that may come our way. Meanwhile, you all can continue acting as yourselves and don't mention anything suspicious. To everyone else besides the twins who know the truth, they will think of you as fellow androids, so that's a good thing on your end."
"So play the part huh?" Lucia asked. "That could work... Any human in this world is a member of the council. So you two acting as members fit the part. And us acting as androids should be easy. We already look the part toward everyone."
"Unless we slip up just like Lee and say something about us being constructs and how they differ from android." Echo smiled as she joked to lighten their situation.
"... Rub it in will you?" Lee didn't like the bashing he was receiving. But at the same time, he felt like he deserved it.
"Playing the part works in the short run until we run into YoRHa." Liv said. "We still don't know much about the organization itself to an extent only minimal information. We also don't know how much of a connection they have with the Council of Humanity. And even if we managed to fool them, what would be the plan next? Will we reveal them of our origin? We can't fully trust YoRHa if I'm being honest. It'd be naive if we think things will go smoothly." Who knows what kind of organization it truly is and what kind of secrets they hide?
There's not an organization/government in the world that doesn't have secrets. Even Babylonia themselves have secrets he'll admit.
"You're not wrong." Gray frowned as he knew that the meeting between YoRHa and him wouldn't go smoothly. "I agree that trusting blindly is not the go-to option. Until we get a better understanding, perhaps we will reveal our secret... For now, we remain secretive. I'll figure things out as we deal with things."
