Chapter 6

"I believe in you commandant." Liv smiled at the man's reassurance.

"So for the moment act like androids and you two act as council members?" Trojan asked as she earned a nod from her commandant. "Got it." Easier said than done.

"We'll continue looking around the place like before right? Until we wait for the leader to come back?" Sica asked Gray as she received a nod from the man. "Right." She'll have to prepare herself for the stares.

"Lucia. Liv."

"Yes?" The two constructs looked at their commandant.

"I want the two of you to remain here and continue looking around the place." Gray told the two as he turned to look at Lee. "I want you to accompany me out of this place. I want to take a look at the machines nearby and the overall terrain as we wait. We won't be far off, just about outside the camp." He has his gun and combat knife on him for safety measures. His power armor won't be necessary at the moment since he's not actively going out to seek combat. Should any combat happen, he has Lee with him to help him and he has years of military experience. He's not your average Joe when it comes to fighting.

"Understood." Lee nodded as he watched Gray get up from the bed.

"Right then. Time to play our roles." He adjusted his hat and the chinstrap to feel more comfortable. "If there's anything urgent to report, use your terminals." He informed everyone as he earned a couple of words of understanding from them. He went ahead and moved toward the door. After a bit of hesitation, he opened the door and was met with the outside view once again. Immediately he had taken notice of the androids who had switched their attention to him in an instant. Some were even standing near the building but they moved away quickly to be respectful.

"Lily." He had called out to the substitute leader of the camp which was one of the few near the building.

"Yes sir?" Lily stood straight and made sure to speak with formality.

"I just wanted to inform you that Lee and I will be leaving the camp for a while. The others will be here so it will just be us away." He informed the girl.

"Leave the camp?" A concerned expression was on her face followed by the others with her also looking off about the decision. "Can I ask you something, sir?"

"Go right ahead." A smile was on Lily's face as she was permitted to ask a question.

"R-right! For what purpose are you and Ms. LeBron on the surface?" Worry was evident on her face and her tone. "It's not safe for humans to be down here... And I don't understand how YoRHa can let you both come down from the moon. Especially with... little to no protection..." She eyed Lee who was leaving the camp with Gray while the rest of the androids who were with him and Sica stayed put here.

"The purpose of our visit down to the surface is something I can't exactly disclose I'm afraid. I did mention to you when we first spoke that my group is on a task. Unless we get permission from the rest of the council we can't say anything." Gray said as he watched the disappointed faces of everyone. "YoRHa let us come to the surface because the council's orders wouldn't change in the end. YoRHa could not change the mind of the council and had to give up their pursuit. Yes, it is dangerous. Yes, we understand your concern for our safety while being down here, but we have a mission we must succeed. Don't worry about protection. These six are well enough to keep us safe. Right, Lee?" He patted the man on the shoulder.
