You remember the pain just from a moment ago, seeing Alastor's worried features, feeling his arms around you.
But now it's all gone, replaced by nothing, only the light which there is no looking away from.
You are pretty sure something bad happened, either you lost consciousness and this is a hallucination, or...
Hopefully, this is not Heaven, that would be far too boring and well, lacking Alastor. But considering your involvement with the "Shadow of New Orleans" along with your regular visits to Hell... And these are just a few items on the list, and yet... it is far more peaceful and well, lighter than you imagined it to be.
Lacking anything to do, you just wait. An hour, or days, you are unsure. It's maddening, if they meant to CPR you, they better really hurry...
After a while, even death seems a better option than this. Than nothing.
But just then suddenly all the lights die out, and what follows is total darkness. Great...
However, despite your worries about just waiting around in darkness now for a change, a strong but bright woman's voice calls out. "Sorry to make you wait Honey, but it's not every day one gets a lost soul's calling."
"I am sorry, a what? Do you know where are we and... And who are you?"
A beautiful ice queen-looking woman materializes, wearing a purple gown, horns sticking out from her platinum blond hair. Her eyes are piercing, but her face has such symmetry which you have never seen before. She is gorgeous.
"I am Lilith, Mother of Witchcraft, Queen of Hell. And well, this is a place in-between worlds, a waiting room so to speak."
"Oh crap, so I did die... Is this where everybody goes after they die, is this where it gets determined whether I go up or down?"
"My child, you are certainly full of questions" Lilith smiles, her perfect features becoming even more highlighted, but remains a somewhat cold look all the while. "Allow me to explain. You seem to understand that your life as you know it, ended. But not in the way it was supposed to, you see my girl, humans belong on Earth, and not in the otherworld. You may or may not known, that spending too much time in a differen realm other than yours, especially as a human, will disturb the balance of nature. Therefore, in case a human breaks the rules, or in fact, if a demon spends too much time on Earth, they have to pay the price. They simply stop existing, there is no breaking the laws of nature itself without the consequences."
"Miss uhh... Mother Lilith, sorry to interrupt you there, but I think I understand that this is what happened. How come, I am still here then, still somewhere?" You can feel your voice tremble as fear washes over you from. You knew about the afterlife and the possibility that even that is taken away from you, along with your human life is maddening.
"Hush child, I am not yet finished, we are getting to that part. No, as you very sharply accessed, your soul in fact did not perish. And for that, you may thank me, and your smart decisions during your life, joining my coven. Even Hell has its own exceptions, and for our worshippers, we, the mentors through your mortal lives receive special attention after your death. So as you were under my protection as a mortal, you still are in death, thus you escaping the inevitable. And here we are, my generosity allowing you another chance in life. Well, afterlife, but believe me honey you don't miss out on too much, human life is very overrated."
A little speechless, you try to process it all under Lilith's assessing gaze. "So Miss Lilith, am I going to go to Hell after this?"
"Yes my child, with such a corrupted soul as yours, and worshipping my misunderstood teachings will get you into Hell. However, I have a proposal for you, as I shall help you once again. If I am not mistaken, your reason for your little visits risking your life in Hell was a certain demon. And I am certain you wish to be their equal, once you arrive back to your new, forever home, aren't you?"
"Well yes, of course, but-"
"NO BUT" her blond hair flows around her for a moment, purple glowing from her eyes before she calms down "we are always looked down upon, always oppressed being the 'weaker' sex. Is that not what ended your mortal life, the man not listening, not believing you, and the helplessness yours to be unable to do anything? Tell me, child, wouldn't you want to be able to protect yourself? To be able to take care of yourself without having to rely on others?"
"Yes of course, if that's an option. Who wouldn't I suppose..."
"Very well my child, you are making the right decision. I will make you strong, lift you up from the rest of the demon scrum, freeing your soul and mind finally out of any weight holding you back. I will free you, and you will be the best version of yourself, the most powerful you have ever been!"
"And.. I am sorry to ask, but I spent some time down in Hell, therefore I must ask - what's the price of all this?"
Lilith laughs, loudly, ringing in the limitless dark space "My child, you are careful, that is a fine trait, a necessity for survival. But worry not, you are in my coven, I am taking care of you - just from the kindness of my heart. No strings attached, if you allow me to free your potential, free you from everything holding you back, you will have the world at your fingertips. Shall we, my precious child?" She extends her hand towards you, and while you don't have a body or a hand, as you think to take it, it happens.
The world turns upside down and then into itself, and you are spitted out onto the familiar gravy-red ground. You get a prickly sensation all over, now feeling you yet again have a body. Still holding Lilith's hand, you start to be able to focus on other sensations, the prickly feeling turning into tingling. Your hearing is so much clearer and sensitive than before, picking up the subtle step Lilith takes towards you, lifting you up from the ground by your hand.
Feeling her lips against yours the immediate rush of energy runs through you, getting rid of any remnants of pain and uncertainty. As Lilith lets you go, you finally open your new eyes to a world of newfound possibility.
You feel more delightful than ever, weightless and unstoppable.

finallyyyy the oc arrived haha! Next chapter there will be more pictures and I will add variations as well (and while they all look a bit wonky, I think it helps to give a better idea :3)
