that didn't make any sense. bring misery to my people in the end... for my people? how would that help the situation at all? spying won't solve anything, they just wanted to ruin our reputation more—!
"understood. i'll see the mission out to the end. for my people."
—but, as a child you do things as you're told. being one with little to no authority, at least that's what i had initially thought, it was all i could do. i was thrown into this blindly at the young age of five and had never disobeyed any orders after that.
"you are our future."
they said.
"when you grow to be of age, you will lead our people and everyone will see your strength."
but what did that mean? why was i the next heir when i didn't have any connections with the rulers of the uchiha until now?
at six, i was sent to the higher ups, it was safe to assume they were the government of jujutsu sorcery. the power behind it all, controlling the scenes at will.
they demanded that i be under their command, both the uchiha and the sorcerer higher ups had ordered me to become spies for the other.
things were rather hectic as the uchiha reputation continued to plummet. we were known to be powerful, intimidating, smart.
but we were also known to be selfish, cruel, and traditional. or in other words, old-fashioned.
the uchiha wanted world domination over the jujutsu world, and the higher ups had that. both governments were corrupted in the same kinds of ways.
and both of them had no problem putting a mere child in between their battles for dictatorship.
"you are the strongest, y/n. the world relies on you. we need you."
they needed me, they'd always say. but why? i was the strongest? how?
nothing had ever felt okay. but i dealt with the uneasiness, because they promised peace in the end.
