Y/N couldn't shake the encounter with Mikey from her mind. That night, she tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. Haruto, her fiancé, lay beside her, peacefully unaware of the turmoil in her mind. She wanted to tell him, to share the fear that gnawed at her, but the words refused to come. How could she explain Mikey's sudden reappearance after all these years? How could she make Haruto understand that this wasn't just an old friend coming back into her life, but something far more dangerous?
The next day, Y/N went about her routine, but nothing felt the same. She couldn't concentrate at work, her thoughts constantly drifting back to Mikey—his cold eyes, his possessive words. She tried to convince herself that it was just a chance encounter, that he would disappear as suddenly as he had appeared. But deep down, she knew better.
A week passed, and Y/N began to relax slightly. Maybe Mikey had just wanted to see her one last time. Maybe he had realized that they were both different people now, living different lives. She started to feel like she could breathe again, that she could move on without looking over her shoulder.
But then, the strange things started happening.
At first, it was small—Haruto's business deals inexplicably falling through, calls from unknown numbers in the middle of the night, her belongings being moved around in her apartment when she knew she hadn't touched them. Y/N tried to brush it off as coincidences, but as the days went by, the feeling of being watched grew stronger. She could feel eyes on her even when she was alone, could sense the subtle shift in the air when someone was near.
One evening, Y/N returned home to find a bouquet of white lilies on her doorstep. Her heart skipped a beat—she hadn't ordered flowers, and Haruto never bought lilies. They reminded her too much of funerals, of the fragility of life. She picked up the card attached to the bouquet, her hands shaking.
"For Y/N, to remind you of what was and what will be. - M."
Her breath caught in her throat. Mikey. It had to be him. Panic surged through her, and she quickly threw the flowers into the trash, as if discarding them would erase the memory of his touch, his voice, his presence.
But it was no use. Mikey was everywhere—at the edge of her vision, in the shadowed corners of her life, lurking just out of sight. And with each passing day, the shadows of the past grew darker, threatening to consume her.
Y/N tried to talk to Haruto about it, but the words stuck in her throat. She didn't want to drag him into this, didn't want to burden him with the ghosts of her past. So she kept it to herself, the fear festering inside her like a wound.
But Mikey wasn't going to let her hide. He was closing in, tightening the noose around her, reminding her with every passing moment that she was his. And deep down, Y/N knew that there was no escaping him—not now, not ever.
The reunion that had started with a chill in the air had become a full-blown storm, and Y/N was caught in its eye, powerless to escape the shadows of the past that had come to claim her.
