You Broke me

Zee was frustrated. The company was dragging with wrapping up the investigation regarding the caving of the ceilingnof the mall where so many people got hurt. One of their employees and by extension the company was responsible for what happened. Tee Perdpiryawong was brought before a panel of experts to explain why he choose a different contractor than the one the company authorized and why he allowed them to use cheaper materials for building the wall. Tee was adamant that he did not know the contractor would cut corners and use cheap materials. He said that he choose the man because he was cheaper and he wanted the company to save money. The director was furious at Tee because he blatantly disregarded instructions given to him. Tee tried shifting the blame saying that maybe the plans were faulty and that's why the ceiling caved. He refused to take responsibility for what he did. He even said he never told the contractor to use cheaper materials.

Tee was anxious because he knew he messed up and could loose his job. His bosses are influential and he would perhaps never get a job in this industry again. He doesn't even know what his parents would say when they found out what happened. He was told to leave the room and that he would be called back at a later date to hear the findings of the board. He had a gut feeling that he was finished.

He walked out past Max and Zee. He looked at them with anger. If they allowed him to be part of the team drafting the plans then he would not be in this mess. They just looked at him and walked past him. Their tight friendship of school and University was long gone. The got to know him as an adult and they did not like him. Tee got even more angry at the dismissive way his friends treat him. It's all your fault you know he exploded shouting at them.  You could have helped me but you didn't he continued. You think that you are better than anyone else. Zee turned around and sneered at him. No Tee he said. We don't think we're better. We studied hard to do a proper job when employed. You are the one who could never take your studies seriously and grow up. We long done with University and in the real world now. You are the one that never grew up. You took everything too lightly. It's because of ME that you actually got a job at this company. I asked them to give you a chance since your results were not on par. It's because of me that you actually had a chance to prove that you not just a spoilt brat. And you royally fucked it up. The company is being sued for the injuries that your incompetence caused and you are trying to blame anyone else besides yourself. Zee and Max then walked away.

Tee stood there staring at them. He had to get out of this mess. His parents will skin him alive. But first he needed to get hold of that contractor and see to it that he keeps his mouth shut about their arrangements. He didn't know that the ceiling would actually cave so soon. He was hoping only in a few years when he already left the company. Everything is happening so sudden. He left the building in a hurry while dialing the contractor's number. That man still owes him his share for getting the contact. A thousand thoughts and plans went through Tee's mind. He doesn't want to have a bad reputation because of this.  The contractor eventually answered after Tee called him a couple of times. He asked to meet him and the man says he is at the hospital as his wife was also injured at the mall. Tee didn't even feel bad for the man and demanded that they meet up even if he has to go the the hospital.  He met the man at the hospital and asked him when he will get his share and warned him to keep quiet about their arrangements. The man panicked and said he have to use the money for his wife's hospital bill. Tee grabbed the man by his collar and said. The company will pay the hospital and it is their fault that the people got hurt.  He must keep quiet and give him his money.

Unbeknownst to them Max was just around the corner from them hearing and recording the whole conversation. He also recorded the man confirming that Tee would get his share later in the day.

With the assurance that he would get his money later Tee left the man. As he walked down the hall way he saw Zee coming out of a room and closing the door behind him. Who is in there he asked Zee. He didn't see Zee stiffened when he heard and saw him. Just one of the people who got hurt. I was asked to check up on everyone. Tee just glowered at Zee and walked away. Zee's shoulders sagged in relief because the room he came out of was Nunew's and he didn't want Tee to find out Nunew was there.

A few days later a news article was published wherein Zee's company accepted responsibility for what happened and undertook to pay everyone's hospital bills and compensate them for the injuries they sustained. That is want was done publicly. In reality Tee was not only fired, he and the contractor was charged with attempted manslaughter. Max handed over the recording to his bosses who handed it to the authorities. Tee was taken into custody and put in a cell awaiting to be formally charged. He a grown man threw such a huge tantrum. You would think he was a teenager being wronged. With the one call he got he phoned his parents and Baifern asking them to come Chiang Rai and come help him.
