His gaze immediately warmed the moment he found her, handling a few boxes. It seemed she had calmed down now.

This wasn't too bad. Some of his stuff was definitely down here. Maybe he could look for them as an excuse.

Kaeya walked into the room, closing the door behind him. It seemed that wasn't enough to grab her attention, but, when he approached, her shoulders jumped just at the sound of his soft breathing.

(Y/N) spun on her feet, a frown on her lips.

"Master Kaeya," she murmured.

Kaeya folded his arms, his eye widening slightly in amusement. (Y/N) simply walked past him, placing yet another box upon a pile of boxes.

"Will you really keep calling me that?"

(Y/N) avoided his gaze. "What are you doing down here? May I be of assistance?"

Kaeya heaved a sigh. Her back faced him as silence fell. She began to organise the boxes. That's a bit much...

"I just wanted to see if any of my old stuff is down here. Not sure if Master Diluc still wants them here, haha."

"I see." (Y/N) knew he was lying, but chose to ignore it. She attempted to reach for a large box right at the top of a stack. "I'm sure-" she let out an exhale in frustration, tiptoeing, "he wouldn't mind it."

"Do you need help?" Kaeya offered.

"No," (Y/N) whispered.

A soft chuckle left Kaeya's lips, gradually approaching her from behind. "Are you sure–?"

An unexpected jolt rang through (Y/N)'s body at the sudden closeness.

Kaeya's pupil shrunk.

All of a sudden, shatters echoed throughout the room.

Kaeya shoved her to the ground. (Y/N) yelped in fright. The boxes toppled down as if in slow motion.

(Y/N)'s breath halted, her body freezing. Kaeya's figure shielded her, an icy aura surrounding them, knocking off the boxes that threatened to bury them.

And then, finally, the room fell silent.

"Ouch, hehe. Handy these Visions, huh?" Kaeya winced. "Are you alright?"

(Y/N)'s eyes shook in silence. A soft smile spread across Kaeya's lips.

She could feel his quickened breaths, his face directly above hers, his hands resting at either side of her head.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. You weren't hurt, were you?"

(Y/N) was silent.

"(Y/N)."

"Hey." Kaeya grabbed her hand. "Breathe."

(Y/N) was frozen. Her mouth trembled as Kaeya clasped his fingers with hers.

"(Y/N)." Kaeya took a deep breath, attempting to prompt her. "Come on. Breathe..."

(Y/N) gasped. Kaeya heaved a sigh of relief.

She pointed at the boxes. Her heart dropped.

The glasses!

"It's okay. Can you speak?" Kaeya smiled. "It's okay, alright?"

(Y/N) shook her head rapidly. Kaeya's icy shield still surrounded them. Uncontrollably, she felt her eyes tear up.

The door slammed open.

"What happened?!"

Kaeya glanced towards the door. He dropped the shield, swiftly getting off (Y/N), helping her sit up. She pulled her hand out of his grasp, her eyes fixed on the floor.
