August heaved a sigh. He didn't think Lucien would actually want to come and stay here. He supposed there wasn't really much of a choice, plus he was the one to suggest it, but...
They were only just about friends. She was mostly just Luca's sister to him. There was no way he could just... get used to her being — living — in his house.
August shook his head. Maybe she would just be like... a roommate. A housemate. Yeah, that wasn't too bad. Well, it wouldn't be too bad if his dad would shut up.
August's father was frantically cleaning the living room (again), as August was simply fixing his hair in the mirror.
"Just think about it! Lucien is a nice girl. She would be such a lovely daughter-in-law! And she's your age!! Surely that isn't a coincidence!"
August tied up his brown locks in his usual loose bun, his shoulders soon dropping in a looming defeat.
"That's a married woman you're talking about, Dad."
"Really?" His father's head perked up. "I didn't see a ring on her finger!"
August shrugged, approaching the living room door. "Probably because her husband is an asshole."
His father grinned. August held the bridge of his nose with another deep exhale. "All the more reason for you to sweep her off her feet and save her! Do you know how long I've been waiting for you to fall in love? You've never allowed any of your relationships to blossom!"
Clipping his fringe back with his leaf-shaped hair clips, August opened the door, shrugging once again. "I'm just not interested in that stuff. I'm heading out now. See ya."
Him and Lucien? His father was only saying that because she was the only other woman in his life now. Either way, it'd be weird. That'd be making his best friends... his siblings. So weird...
August's eyes narrowed as he left the house.
And then, he shook his head rapidly.
What am I even thinking about...

It didn't take long for August to reach the town's square. After all, he did live in the city. As always, it was bustling at this time, the afternoon's sun beaming brightly above. The weather was getting hotter. It kind of made August wish he was still in Sumeru.
Unfortunately, no matter how much his father put him off about this all, August still had to make sure Lucien would feel welcome and at home in their house. It was the least he could do. It wasn't often that there were girls in their house, even though his mother and sister did have their own rooms. Even so, August had stayed over at theirs just about enough for him to figure out what the essentials would be.
Already, he had a shopping bag in his hand. But now, he was stuck on... the non-essentials.
Does she need clothes..? Then again, I don't know what size she is... or what kind of style she would like...
What would make her feel more comfortable then..? August stared into the different stores through the street, his brow furrowed.
And then, his pink eyes widened, his feet coming to an abrupt stop.
A friend..?

Unsurprisingly, all of Lucien's belongings fit in one single backpack. After all, she hadn't brought anything with her from Fontaine, and had only bought clothes in Mondstadt and used whatever was already in Luca's house.
