Korean high school students often have to study until 10 o'clock at night and can often get overwhelmed with their studies. The parents in this conversation are trying to lift up his spirits by buying him a souvenir while on a business trip.
In this lesson, we'll be going over the Korean grammatical phrase used to soften someone's language. Learn this Korean 것 같다(geot gatda), which is used to make assumptions, or also
grammatical structure and essential vocabulary words and phrases.

Grammar Point #1 - I Think I Will - -ㄹ/을 갓 갈다
-ㄹ/을 갓 갈다(1/eul geot gatda) is a grammar structure to express your though or assumption about future plans when you are not 100% sure. The word 같다 means 'to be the same' or 'to be like' and it is attached to the end of -ㄹ/을 것, which is the nominalization of the future tense.► Future Tense (nominalization) + 같다 (to be like) = I think I will / I think it will...
