It was odd to have a free day nowadays. Granted, it wasn't exactly free, but she had nothing to do while she waited for the maid Diluc was supposedly sending over to bring her her dress and help her get ready. In the meantime, she sat on her couch and sipped on a cup of tea. On the side, she had her filled out documents ready to be given to Katheryne at the Adventurer's Guild. Right in front of her was her newly-finished resignation letter she had yet to hand to Jean. She wasn't sure how Jean would take it, but they've been friends as long as Y/n could remember. Jean was sure she would understand and it wouldn't impact their friendship whatsoever.
There was a gentle knock on her door and she quickly got up, putting the cup a good distance away from all the papers.
''Hello, Miss Y/n.''
Hillie stood at the door, holding a hanger, on which Y/n assumed hung her dress. It was covered by black fabric, probably to protect it from getting ruined on the way. She also held a small box, and Y/n wondered what could be inside.
After offering Hillie a cup of tea, the two got to work. Y/n didn't have a vanity, so she put a char in front of the only mirror she had in her house and sat down so Hillie would do her hair. Once that and her make up was done, Hillie unzipped the bag the dress was held in and Y/n finally got to lay eyes on whatever Diluc had planned for her.
And oh, Barbados, was it gorgeous.
The dress itself was a baby blue, matching her Cryo vision, with white accents. The top was an off-shoulder corset, with long, flowy sleeves and the skirt was simple and long. It was nothing over the top, really, but Y/n couldn't believe it was for her.
Y/n put on the dress with the help of Hillie, and twirled into it in front of the mirror. ''I can't believe Diluc picked something so perfect.'' She couldn't believe Diluc knew her so well, even though he's been gone for so long.
''There's something else Master Diluc sent over, too.''
Hillie presented Y/n with the box, and once she opened it, her eyes widened. It was a necklace and a pair of earrings, both silver and blue, and matching her dress perfectly. Y/n looked at Hillie. ''Holy shit, how much did he spend on everything?''
Hillie giggled and shrugged her shoulders. Right, even if she knew, Diluc would've probably forbade her from telling. Of course.
After putting on all her brand new jewerly, Y/n picked up her vision, handing it over to Hillie. ''Mind putting it on my lower back?'' Hillie obliged, and once done, the two left Y/n's home, heading towards the Mondstadt gates.
It was still pretty early in the day, so there were a few stares thrown her way. She didn't live far from the gates, thankfully, so that was quickly over. Once outside, she felt silly for even considering that Diluc would make her walk all the way to the Dawn Winery in that dress. Her eyes eyes immediately fell on a carriage, pulled by not one, but two horses. As a Knight at the moment, it was strange even being one horse, considering they were all with Varka, but Diluc had sent two. He could consider her impressed, really.
The ride to the Dawn Winery wasn't long, and Y/n held a light conversation with Hillie. She accompanied Y/n all the way to the door, then wished her a good day as she left. Y/n walked in by herself, only to immediately be met by Adeline.
''Miss Y/n, you look fantastic,'' Adeline said with her usual smile and politeness. Y/n hadn't seen the woman in a while, really. She hadn't aged a bit.
''Thank you.'' Y/n returned the smile, then looked around the ground floor of the Winery. There were some people around, working on setting up and cleaning. ''Where's Diluc?''
''Master Diluc is in his room, he should be ready by now. I assume you know where it is?'' Y/n gave Adeline a thanks, then made her way up the stairs.
