A few years has went by since Kai kicked the group of Exterminator's ass back to where it came from.
For a while, he was quite the celebrity.
More sinners started moving to his district, believing they could be protected by him during the next extermination.
Overlords respected him even more than they did. Even the ones who use to give him trouble like Valentina didn't try to sexually assault him........
For the span of six minutes.
Kai's popularity and status exploded upwards, but he remained humble and barely acknowledge them as actual feats.
The only bad thing that happened for him was the fact that he was one of the biggest targets of Heaven and it's exorcists.
Now with his territory being constantly attacked every extermination, Kai no longer had the time to help the other sinners outside his territory.
And that was a punishment all on it's own.
You see, Kai was a very empathetic demon, something you rarely see, especially in Overlords.
There are few that he absolutely hates with a passion but the few that don't occur in his wrath are practically protected for life.
And when someone he's supposed to care for dies and he couldn't do anything about it, it reminds him of the circumstances that lead to his own execution.
He couldn't save his own son from the Chieftain. The son he was meant to care for and love was gone because he couldn't protect him.
Kai's constant fights with the exorcists eventually got him in a confrontation with the leader of the exorcists.
Adam. The first man.

Adam was definetly not what Kai would call as a saint. Hell he doubts he could even call him an angel.
The first man constantly taunted him like a small child. Kai was also pretty sure that Adam wasn't taking him seriously.
An easier job for the Icy Overlord. In their first fight, Adam got his ass handed to him every chance he got.
What added salt to Adam's wound was that the Kai that he was fighting was an Ice clone the Overlord used to face Adam while the real one was protecting people from the real damage.
Not that the fact that Kai's ice clone was equal to him in power, Adam got his ass handed to him from hand to combat, magic and to weaponry.
Kai was certainly the superior fighter in physical strength, having kicked a van into Adam's body with relative ease.
However Adam was not that kind of fighter. He mainly relied on his angelic axe that he used to slash at Kai.
And suffice to say, it was a sad sight to say the least.
