Evan's POV
8:00 PM"Evan?" My mom asked creeping into my room.
"Yes?" I asked sitting up slowly.
"Feeling better?" She asked and I nodded, despite the dizziness, just to provide a sense of reassurance.
I opened my phone to see a billion calls and messages from Cora
I quickly called her back because I was worried.
"Cora? Are you okay?" I asked frantically.
"Yeah Evan I'm fine, are you okay?"
"Yeah, sorry for not answering, something happened." I don't want her to say 'I told you so,' so I won't tell her.
"What?" She asked like I knew she would.
"Nothing," I lied and I could hear her sigh dramatically through the phone.
"Don't lie to me Evan," She scolded and I sighed.
"Well, I just got a little hot, the walking became a bit too much, and I had a bit of a flare-up." I gave in, telling her the truth.
"Fine." She huffed but didn't push it any further. "I miss you, can we hang out tomorrow?" She begged and I laughed at the cuteness.
"Of course, get some rest, I'll pick you up after school. We can drive around or go find somewhere to eat." I suggested and she agreed happily. After a bit of mindlessly talking I told her she needed to sleep. "Come on Cora, you really should go to bed."
"So should you. I don't wanna hang up, I like listening to the sound of your voice." She whined and I rolled my eyes playfully.
"I love you, princess, I'll see you tomorrow," I said and waited for a response.
"I love you too," she said and hung up. After putting my phone down, I tossed and turned for a while. I was so exhausted, but I couldn't seem to sleep.
It was only 9:00 and I was dizzy and nauseous still. I felt my phone buzz inside my pocket and realized it was Maverick calling me.
"Hey Mav," I said putting the phone next to my ear. I rubbed my eyes and tried to push away the dizziness and tired feelings.
"You alright? I just got home but I wanted to check on you before going to bed." I rolled my eyes but smiled still.
"I'll be fine, I just need to lie down for a bit. Sorry you had to see that, sometimes I have flare-ups and they seem to be getting worse these days." I admitted and he mumbled something in response.
"You should've told us. We could've looked out for you more or picked something else to do." Maverick said, his tone softening.
"I didn't want you guys to worry, I thought it would be okay..." I sighed running a hand through my hair. "I just wanted it to be like old times, I wanted to have fun."
"I know, but this doesn't have to change anything. We'd just rather know so we can help you if you aren't feeling well." Maverick assured and I smiled softly.
I didn't know what else to say so we stayed silent for a while. I was only able to hear the soft breathing noises on the other end.
"Alright, get some rest man. Call me if you need anything, okay?"
"Yeah, talk to you later, bye," I said and he responded the same. I hung up the phone and was finally able to fall asleep. The words exchanged comforting the pulsing ache radiating through my head.

Cora climbed into the front seat of my car carefully. She looked pale and pretty sick, hopefully everything was okay.
