ALYS,
Over the course of two days the pair quickly became a group. They had found three more people hanging around various places near the crash. Alys was even able to find who she came across on the nautiloid. The group had become tired, hungry, and irritated with one another.
A few hours ago they finished off their rations from the Grove. Alys knew she should've spent the extra coin on food. All they had was water. "There has to be somewhere we can set up camp!" Astarion shouts in frustration as he walks with his arms crossed, clearly pissed."Maybe we can find a nice groove like a nook by a stream." Alys suggests as she walks behind her nautiloid friend, Shadowheart.
As she trailed behind Shadowheart close she noticed a cave opening covered in vines. Her eyes twinkled with hope as she quickly ran ahead of Shadowheart. She could hear everyone else behind her shout and their paces beginning to pick up as well.
Now, out of breath she stopped for a moment before heading in. She soon began to pry at the vines to get them loose, but to no avail. No matter what area she tried, from any angle she couldn't get them loose. "Hells." She stood with her arms crossed as the others finally caught up to her."Why would you run off like that?" Astarion shouts at her with slight anger in his voice.
"Yeah, I knew you were crazy Alys. But this was just dumb." Shadowheart pipped in as she rolled her eyes.
She just chuckled and shrugged, "Sorry guys, but I think I found the perfect spot." The group looked between each other then back at her. "Problem is, these vines are really tough." Alys stood off the side so the group could examine for themselves.
Shadowheart gave up rather quickly, and was waiting for the other three to find the solution. "We could try a cantrip or a spell?" Alys suggested as she began to go through her mental Rolodex of spells. "Ah! Yes! That would work!" A wizard from waterdeep, Gale chimed in. They had found him stuck in a portal in roadside cliffs, soon after finding Shadowheart."Fire bolt!" Astarion and Gale yelled out at once at Alys, causing both men to scowl at the other. Alys chuckled once more as she prepped the spell.
As she was ready to go she did the moment and shouted, "Ignis!" The vines immediately burnt away leaving a perfect opening for them. Alys smiled and bowed as she headed in. Realizing quickly the cave was short and opened into a hidden nook with a river flowing through.
Checking out the entire area she grew even happier knowing it was indeed the perfect place. "I was right! Ha- HA!" The rest of the group trailed behind her quickly falling to the ground."How..how the hells do you still have the energy?" Shadowheart asked Alys with exhaustion in her voice.
Alys ignored her and began setting her tent and bed roll up. Soon, she began working on the campfire. In the distance as the sun was setting, she could see all the others still setting up. Everyone was exhausted, but work needed to be done for it to be suitable.
Just as she gets the fire lit, Shadowheart walks up to Alys with an annoyed face. "Gale needs another magical item." Alys sighed and her mouth dropped, "Already? The last was what, yesterday?" Shadowheart just shrugged, putting her hands up in defense. With reluctance she digs through her pack till she finds an Absolutes talisman. Heading over to Gale, her eyes locked with Astarion as he was finishing. He quickly gave her a seductive wink, and it caused her cheeks to get red."Here you go, Gale." Zarina tells him as she tosses the talisman to him.
"Thanks Alys."
As Alys turned to walk away Gale grabbed her wrist, gently. "I never formally thanked you for rescuing me from that stone, so thank you." Alys gave a slight nod at him, "Don't mention it." She could see the glint in his eyes, he had more to say. "Seriously, it was nothing." Alys said once more, a bit more firm.
His face eased and he nodded at her, "Alright." Alys sighed and walked back over to her tent. As much as she wanted to get to know everyone more she wanted to rest more than anything. Sitting down by the campfire she rested against her backpack.
