SARADA'S POV
I let Boruto lay on me. My legs secure him to ensure he doesn't fall off the tree. He looked... Peaceful. I run my hand through his hair, a sense of protectiveness flowing through my body, a feeling I never felt before. It felt weird but I didn't care. I wanted to ensure he went past his dreams to see reality.
My eyes get heavy as I slowly fall asleep. But that wasn't for a long time as I woke up again. I looked around to see I wasn't on the tree anymore, heck I wasn't even in the forest... rather a... secluded place. I look around to see a girl sitting on the floor playing with a kunai. I couldn't see her face as it was covered with her black hair. Everything about her screamed, for me, as I walked to her slowly. From her hair to her body shape. Her eyes as she looked at me. They were the same as mine.
I activate my sharingan and look at her. I involuntarily step back in shock as she smiles softly.
"After years of trying... we finally met, huh?" she says.
"I'm.... not getting it. Who are you?" I ask as she smiles.
"I'm you... but a... little older... not little... But years older." She says as I squint my eyes looking at her in disbelief."Look... I don't have much time to explain shits to you... but I'm contacting you through Boruto's memories ok? The thing is... I can contact you only when both you and I make simultaneous contact with Boruto in different timelines. I've wanted to talk to you for so long." she explains as I ease out but remain on guard.
"You're the one dying in the vision I saw," I say as I look at her.
"Yes... it's maddening how things have been kept away from us." She whispers. As I look at her confused.
"Hidden from us? What do you mean?" I ask as I sit in front of her."Well... a lot of things have been kept hidden from us... For the sake of us... yet... it.. Annoys me to think that... so many things could've been avoided if they just... just let us know." She says.
"Well... you see... to gain power... you need to sacrifice. And sacrifice can even mean... a person." She explains. I look at her a little confused. I knew where she was going, but I didn't want it to be true."That means... I was... someone's sacrifice for power?" I ask as she nods.
"It's meant for the greater good. Trust me. Our death... will cause immense pain to our loved ones... but this... this sacrifice is important... please... please keep this in mind." She says as she starts disappearing... I open my eyes to find myself on the tree branch once again with Konohamaru sensei waking me up.I put a finger on my lips as I pointed at Boruto to let him know he was sleeping. I knew he had to wake up since we had a mission to complete. I tap his shoulder slowly so as not to scare him.
"Boruto...? Wake up... it's morning... we have to leave.." I say as I feel him snuggle into my chest in sleep. My cheeks turn bright red as he realizes what he is doing and jerks up. He looks at me, 'T-too close.' I think as he jumps away from me sitting opposite to me."Sorry..." he whispers, rubbing the back of his head as I slowly close my legs, rubbing my knees slightly as I whisper, "It's alright..."
"Thank you... f-for... letting me sleep on you" he says, his eyes filled with admiration as I smile softly.
"You looked too peaceful to wake up." I chuckled a little before jumping down the tree and walking back to their campsite. We decide to not go together so that Mitsuki doesn't annoy us by shipping us together. Upon seeing us coming from different directions, sensei smirks as I blush slightly."Ready to leave for Iwagakure?" sensei asks as all of us nod.
I knew what I wanted to do now. If the world was in danger... I was ready to sacrifice myself but what made me fear my death a little were the people I loved. My parents, sensei, Boruto, Mitsuki, Cho-cho... everyone.
I sigh as I continue jumping from tree to tree. I looked at Boruto who looked like he was thinking about something deeply. I sigh as I continue jumping. We reach the village as sensei shows the pass that allows us to enter the village.
I walked inside looking around the beautiful place that was lit with light all around and decorations were done. Young children were playing around, and eating as their parents shouted, yelling, not to go too far away. We reached the Kage office I found myself controlling my anger and not snapping his neck.
I smile, a completely fake smile, as I now realize how good it is to fake a smile. I looked over at Boruto to realize he was on the same page as me. I sigh softly realising we were all given separate rooms. I walked into my room which was adjacent to Boruto's room. I look at him before walking into my room. It was quite spacious for a single person to stay in.
I lay on the bed thinking about the talk I had with her. I definitely should talk to her once again... but how? I think. If both of us don't make physical contact with Boruto, simultaneously... we can never talk to each other.
I hear a knock as I look at the door before walking to open it. "Sensei?" I ask as he says, "Well... we are allowed to attend the festival... so I thought I should let you know. It's alright if you don't want to.." He says as I shake my head, "I'll get ready.." I say. "I'll wait," he replies as I nod at him before closing the door and walking in to change my clothes.
After changing, I walked out as I look at Sensei who was waiting for me. I smile a little before walking with him. I looked at Mitsuki and Boruto who were waiting.
"Am I late?" I ask as both of them shake their heads. I sigh in relief."Let's go?" I say as everyone walks towards the festival. I watched Boruto as he stood next to me the whole time. He was being vigilant as if making sure nothing happened to me.
Though I wanted to ask him what was wrong... I thought if it made him feel at ease, he was most welcome to do so. He pulls my shirt lightly before telling me to follow him. The firecrackers were about to be set free, so I reluctantly followed him. We reach the rooftop of our hotel and I look at the sky... The firecrackers start as I look at them. I smile softly before whispering, "It's beautiful."
"I know." He says before looking at me with a soft smile. It had been... months that I saw his real smile... if not years.
I continue looking at the fireworks. The show ends as I walk down to my room with him. I smile before he walks into his room and I walk into mine. A soft smile plays on my lips before I sigh knowing I have something to do. I look at myself in the mirror. My sharingan activated as I see it turn into a 2-tomoe. The determination on my face remains resilient.
WORD COUNT- 1252
HEYA!! I'm back with another chapter. Hope it clarifies a little about the last chapter! I know the Sharingan needs a good reason to change to a higher level... but if we think from her POV... this was something good since she has lived into a peaceful time. Seeing her friend going through a tough time and then knowing about her future... definitely must have caused a huge chaos within her... Plus I need to upgrade her sharingan for her Mangekyo to activate in the coming future since I don't remember them showing anything in the manga.
Hope you liked the chapter, I apologize if there were any... grammatical errors. See ya in the next chapter!
Also! thank you for 1.1k!! ❤❤
