When All Lights Go Out II (TFP)

Chapter 22

"If only Silas wasn't such a slimy rat, I would have ended him already!" Megatron commented, which made Optimus turned his head slightly with a glare. "What? It would save us all the headache of these humans. I am sure you can't disagree, Prime."

Optimus just rolled his optics as he didn't really care about Mech at this point. He looked at the berth as he walked closer to it and realized just how painful it was going to be just to try and get onto it. Optimus could only intake heavily and prepare himself to get onto it. He only wanted his daughter to be removed form him and know that she is okay. He wasn't worried about himself, just Azura. Even if it meant he had to wait for medical treatment.

Upon reaching the berth, Optimus placed his hands on the side of the berth and intakes heavily. "I know it will take a bit of effort to gone onto it, Optimus, but once you are on it, you will feel a lot better." Optimus glanced at Optimus and simply nodded as he braced himself on the berth as he stepped to the side. Megatron backed away now that Optimus could support himself with the berth, and Optimus looked at the berth as he pondered on how to get on. "Sliding on backwards might be the easiest way, Optimus."

Optimus nodded in agreement with his medic and turned himself around slowly. He grimaced once his lower back was against the berth and he grunted as he pushed himself up onto the berth. Bulkhead remained close in case he needed to help Optimus, but Prime was able to slide his aft onto the berth and he shifted backwards until his back laid against the back of the berth, and he moved his legs up slowly until he was finally laying on the berth.

"Good..." Ratchet immediately moved the energon drip over and lifted Optimus's arm to push the line directly into a vein, and Optimus looked at him with a frown. "Just be patient, Optimus. I need to scan your entire system to determine the best course of action..." Optimus glanced down at his abdomen and was about to speak again. "Ep, ep, ep! I know you want Azura out of you right now, but you are weak. Your system won't allow you to open your chassis until you've regained some strength. That is why the drip is going to deliver a strong charge of energon directly to your system. And need to make sure I can support your system to deliver Azura within the hour."

Optimus intakes heavily as another hour felt torturous to him. "But...Azura..."

"Azura is safer within your body right now, Optimus. Your system is keeping her inside you, which is why you won't be able to open your chassis right now. Removing her forcefully may forfeit her spark." Optimus's optics quiver with concern at that and he shook his head. "Now please, try and relax. I will apply some pain relief to your system as soon as I figure out what needs to be done so you and Azura are okay. Especially since I can already tell your system's overloaded and struggling to maintain regular processes while keeping Azura alive."

Optimus listened to Ratchet as his only thought was to get Azura out of him. However, Ratchet has always been reasonable, so he rested his head back and nodded. "Very well...do what you need to do, Ratchet..." He grimaced as he felt more pain within his chassis and stomach. "Though I doubt you could...relieve the pain of labor..."

"Probably not, but just the general pain of what your system has endured up to this point." Ratchet quickly began attaching lines to Optimus's body and abdomen so he could see Optimus's vitals and moved a full body scanner above him to begin scanning Optimus's body to see what damage his internals have sustained. "Okay, while all this starts scanning your system, I am going to patch the immediate mesh wounds..." Ratchet flinched in surprise when Optimus gagged suddenly, and the medic smiled. "Good thing you aren't ingesting anything."

Optimus rolled his optics. "It doesn't make me feel any better, Ratchet...I just...need to hear good news about my daughter. I want to know she is okay."
