SHIT. NAKYOUNG SIGHED AND BLASTED MUSIC as she drove. She didn't even know where she was going, but she needed to clear her head.
I can't believe i would tell them such a lie. She groaned and took a turn in the road. How in the fucking world am i gonna get myself out of this mess?!
As she drove mindlessly, she wasn't sure where she was until she stopped and looked out the window.
She sighed and got out of the car, locking it behind her. She walked up to a house that was an average size and made of cream coloured bricks. There were lots of plants along the front garden and walls of the house, creating a cozy atmosphere.
Nakyoung knocked on the door and rung the doorbell, waiting for someone to answer. She was hoping they were in, even though it's a week day. They were usually at their dorm during this time.
When the door opened, Nakyoung's frown didn't disappear, but she sighed in relief. She looked up at the person and practically leaped into their arms, "Yubin-ah, i've done something."
Yubin stood there, Nakyoung leaning into her, with a surprised and confused face. "Uh, unnie, mind telling me what's going on?"
Yubin closed the door and walked towards her living room with Nakyoung still attatched to her. She peeled the older girl off of her body and made her sit on the sofa.
Nakyoung didn't usually come over unannounced, so Yubin thought something must've been wrong for real. She sat beside her, "Unnie, what happened?" She asked, worry laced through her voice.
"..." She groaned and held her head in her hands, "You need to help me." She said, "I've told my parents that i'm dating someone."
Yubin's eyes widened, "Seriously?" She bit back a laugh, "Why?"
Nakyoung looked over with a glare, "This isn't funny, Yubin! My cousin knows and she's probably gonna tell my whole family." She sighed.
"I think you should tell them the truth before that happens, then." Yubin offered, trying to manage a smile.
However, Nakyoung shut down this idea, "No, Minjeong will definitely tell everyone that i lied about it and will never let it go." She explained, looking exasperated.
"Naky-unnie, you need to calm down. It's not that big of a deal." She said, placing a hand on her back, "First of all, what made you tell them you were dating someone?"
"I... I don't know." Nakyoung said quietly, "Minjeong was just being an annoying little bitch, telling me "oh, good luck finding a date for my mom's wedding!" and i lost my temper and i just blurted it out. Like, obviously, i'm not dating anyone!" She rambled and covered her face with her hands.
Yubin nodded, continuing to rub Nakyoung's back softly, and considered the situation for a moment. "Well, why don't you get one of those boys who asked you out the other week to just go with you to that wedding? You don't have to be dating him." She shrugged.
Nakyoung shook her head and took in a breath, "No, i can't do that."
"Why not?" Yubin asked, "You don't have to feel bad for, like, 'using' him, or something. It's only for one day."
"No, it's not that i'd feel bad, Yubin. I just..." Nakyoung closed her eyes, "I told them that i have a girlfriend."
"Oh." Yubin blinked, "Well, that's not much different, other than just having to find someone to go with you." She said.
Nakyoung paused, a sudden thought popping into her head. She turned her head slowly, towards Yubin. Her face was mostly neutral, but there was a hint of sheepishness in it.
Yubin watched her and became a little suspicious, "What's that look for?"
She took Yubin's hands and held them in her own, "Come with me." She said, "Can you come with me instead?"
Yubin's eyes widened, "What?" She shook her head and leaned back slightly, "No, no, i can't."
"Why not? It's not for real." Nakyoung's eyes were almost begging now. Rather than having to bring someone that she didn't know, why not bring her closest friend instead?
"No..." Yubin swallowed and looked away slightly, "I don't think that's a good idea, unnie."
Nakyoung persisted, "Yubin-ah, please. You're my closest friend and i think we could pull it off." She said further, "It's only for one day, like you said earlier. Please, i want you to come."
Yubin wasn't fully convinced about this idea. There was something that was holding her back from being Nakyoung's fake girlfriend and it saddened her slightly.
But since Nakyoung is one of her closest friends and she'd do almost anything for her, she made her decision. "... If it's only for one day." She agreed quietly and sighed.
Nakyoung flung her arms around Yubin and squeezed her tightly. "Thank you." She sighed in relief against Yubin's shoulder.
Yubin hugged her back, but her face stayed worried. And not for her friend this time. But, rather, for herself.
