30. Confusion and Decisions

『 Jungwon's POV 』

We all looked at each other in shock after what Alyonna said. Not necessarily shock but it was more of a "Did you hear what I just heard?" or "Is this girl really asking us to do that?"

"Sorry, did I hear you right?" Yuna asked, more sarcasm in her voice than actual confusion.

"You want the stone, don't you?" Alyonna asked, with her eyebrows raised.

"Well, yeah. But how can we kill some creatures we know nothing about?" I reasoned.

"We have some information on them," Alyonna said.

"And if you have that information, why can't you kill them?" Bae asked.

"I'm the only one in this realm whose powers are strong enough to kill them. No one else can even manage to get close to them, let alone killed them. Sadly, my oath as guardian of the stone and protector of this realm, stops me from hurting anyone here," Alyonna said.

"Drayce should know," she added. We all turned to him when she said that.

"What?" he asked, nonchalantly. "None of you asked."

"That you're not allowed to kill anyone in the realm?" Kyujin asked. " 'cause that's not something worth mentioning?"

"What difference would it have made?" He asked.

"Let's move on, we don't have time for this," Sullyoon said. "What is the information you have on those creatures?"

"They're mutants. They're what become of the residents of this realm when exposed to too much light," Alyonna started. "And they start killing everything around them, because they're hungry. They have this sort of insatiable want for creatures of light."

"Do you know why?" Jiwoo asked.

"Maybe they think that doing so would bring them back to their normal selves," Alyonna said. "I like to think that. It makes me feel some sort of sympathy towards them, even if they kill, they were my friends at one point." We all did not know what to say to that. There was some sort of silent grieving for Alyonna and the creatures. Ni-ki, however, broke the silence.

"Do they have a weakness?" He asked.

"They do actually. They cannot stand the darkness, which is why they thrive out there," she explained.

"Anything else?" Sunoo asked.

"They can only be hurt by silver and can only be killed by piercing them straight through the heart. Everything else will be useless," she said.

"Do u have silver weapons then?" Sunghoon asked.

"We do, but that doesn't guarantee that you'll be allowed to use them," Alyonna answered. I actually rolled my eyes at how dramatic she was being.

"Then how are we supposed to help you?!" Yuna burst out. "We come here and TRY to get the stones and  we're actually willing to KILL THOSE STUPID CREATURES FOR YOU and YOU'RE BEING OF NO HELP!" I saw Huening Kai behind her telling her to calm down.

"I agree with Yuna," Sunoo said. "Thanks for the info but the weapons will be so much more helpful."

"Let's all just calm down, shall we?" I said. "Arguing will get us nowhere." In all honesty, I was getting really tired of their dramatic speeches and wanted them to shut up.

"He's right," Sullyoon agreed. "Besides, Alyonna's lying. They've run out of silver weapons." That caused us all to turn to Alyonna in shock.

"Haven't you?," Sullyoon asked, this time with emphasis. The way she held eye contact with Alyonna was enough to scare me. Drayce looked at both of them with his eyebrow raised. I could tell he was enjoying the drama. To be honest, we all were.
