I have been really enjoying rewriting this story and reading your reactions.

Blair's POV

"With Albert's illegitimate children, Ernst's Thai mistress, and Stephanie's stint in the circus. I understand your apprehension about a dark horse from the States. But I can assure you that Waldorf's are as prestigious a family as America has and..." I started to get worried as Louis' mother was handed a file by her assistant, and she was no longer focusing on what I was saying. "I would never bring ignominy to Louis." I continue my plead to her.

"Oh really?" She questions me. She turns over a piece of paper and shows me a printed Gossip Girl blast of my many scandals. "It seems to me that scandal is your middle name. You blackmail teachers...bully upperclassmen. A pregnancy scare. You dated Lord Marcus while he was sleeping with his stepmother. Then you were traded by Chuck Bass, whose name precedes him, for a hotel. And do not get me started on the sister. Actually lets. Ella Bass traded sex for business deals for her father's company, teen mother, has images of herself practically nude all over the world..."

"If I can interject. Ella Bass is an amazing person. She is a wonderful mother who happens to be a successful, if not one, of the best supermodels in the world. I am proud to be her friend." I declare.

"I think this meeting is over." Sophie declares, and I feel like I am losing this meeting.

"No, princess, please let me explain." I plead with her.

"It's not necessary, Miss Waldorf." She brushes my pleas off.

"I've had a past." I stand up, trying to keep her from leaving. "But all my wrongdoings, all my secrets are right there in front of you." I let out a sigh, not believing that I still have to defend who I am now compared to who I was in high school. "Gossip Girl has been chronicling my mistakes since I was 14. Can you really say that about the other girls invited to the party tomorrow?"

"No, but I doubt that any of them have performed in a burlesque club." She fires back, and I lower my head in shame.

"Louis knows all about my past." I tell her. "I've grown. I've changed. I can be the next Grace Kelly." I continue my plea and hope I've done everything I could to just get a chance to show that I am the right person for Louis.

Nate's POV

"And even though the division's getting tougher, the Mets, they actually have a chance this year. We gotta go. The infield fly rule's so much easier to explain in person." I state to Raina.

"Nate, what's going on? You surprise me with this dinner, and all you talk about is sports?" She questions me.

"What? The season just started. Spring fever is an actual disease, you know?" I ramble.

"It feels like ever since that failed attempt to meet my mother, you've been avoiding talking about it, her. I got it admit it, I didn't think you scare so easy."

"Raina, I didn't mean...Look, I'm not scared, okay? I wanna be supportive."

"Then what is it?"

"It's just...I went through a similar situation with Ella and Chuck." I share.

"What do you mean?"

"Their dad had always told them that their mother died during childbirth and refused to talk about her to them. And it wasn't until a year after he died that this woman started showing up, and long story short, she denied that she was their mother, then convinced them that she was and then said she wasn't and...I just think sometimes are better left unfound." I explain.
