"Day by day I'm falling more in love with you, and day by day my love seems to grow." Nadia belted out as the band backed her up. Sam sat in the audience watching her with a smile across his face. It was finally the week of her audition for NYADA and she had been practicing her song for the last couple of weeks. Since she lost some time due to the accident and therapy, Nadia had been pushing herself to get ready for this audition. Sam had been help her look through her repertoire to find the best song for her to perform for the audition. "I find that day by day you're making all my dreams come, so come what may I want you to know that I'm you're alone, and I'm in love to stay. As we go through the years, as we go through the years day by day."
After hitting her last notes Sam clapped as she stood up from his seat. Nadia placed her hands on her hips with a frustrated expression over her face. "Wow! That was wonderful! It was fun, it was sassy, it was brilliant, it—"
"It sucks." Nadia cut him off.
Sam tilted his head to the side slightly, his eyebrows raised just a bit. "That wasn't what I was going to say."
Nadia sighed before turning to the band, and Scott asked, "Is there anything we can do to make it sound better?"
Nadia shook her head, "No. it's not you guys, it's me. You guys are doing great."
"Well, we're gonna take a break and we'll be back in about five minutes." Scott said before nodding to the rest of the band members to come with him.
"Thanks, guys." Nadia smiled at them softly before turning back to Sam.
"Why do you think the number sucks? I thought you were fantastic." Sam informed her.
"Thank you for that, but I'm stuck." Nadia sighed, sitting down at the edge of the stage. "This song feels too safe. I need to be bold. Spectacular. This is the audition of my life. I need to be challenged."
"You are bold and spectacular." Sam told her, a small frown on his face. "You just sang circles around me like no one else."
"That doesn't make sense." Nadia shook her head, a smile tugging on her lips. She crossed her legs, placing her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands. "But I appreciate you making me smile."
