Little Red Riding Hood 《PAUSED》

Hunter's pov:

"Pack?" She asked with a puzzled expression. I nodded and proceeded to hold her hand, "are you ready, red?"

"Do I have a choice?"

I chuckled and walked in hand in hand with my mate. As we headed towards our designated seats, I began to sence a presence in the room that felt odd. Like it didn't belong. I shrugged the feeling as to not alarm my little red.

"There's only one seat..." My red muttered, gazing up at me to find a solution. I chuckled as I sat down on my seat. tapping my lap lightly, her cheeks gave a slight shade of red at my gesture. It was quite adorable to look at. She hesitantly began to move, however all the patience left my body completely. I grabbed her wrist gently and pulled in to sit in my lap. Her eyes widened and her lips parted to let out a slight shriek, "why would you do that?!" She whisper-shouted as she turned back to look at me.

"You were going at a slow pace, red. I had to."

Her eyes rolled and she turned back to the table. I held both utensils presented on the table and began feeding my red some of the stake that was on our plate. Thankfully, she ate with no hesitation. Although she kept giving me dirty looks, I ignored them as they only looked adorable in my view.

A few minutes had passed when one of my soldiers came tapping at my shoulder. I glared at him from the side of my eye, "what do you want, can't you see I'm busy?" I informed him roughly.

"I understand, sir. But there are intruders banging on the castle gates."

As soon as those words left his mouth, the wall behind us exploded with foreign people flooding in the room. Bricks and ruble came flying across the room. I whipped my head to the scene while still protecting my red from any chunks coming her way.

An old looking man came through the rubble with a feral look on his face, "WHERE'S MY GODD*MN NIECE?!" He yelled across the room. My eyes filled with rage as I marched over to the man and held him by his collar, "What the f*ck do you want. We don't have your d*mn niece. Leave. Now." I practically spat in his face with a low filled rage tone.

He pointed behind me and tried to push me away, which he failed on," that's my niece, give her back to me. And we won't have war."

I glanced behind me and saw who he was pointing to. My eyes widened with rage and shock. He was pointing at MY red. MY love. I glanced back at him and punched him hard on his jaw. Still keeping my composure, I warned, "don't you ever lay a finger on her. If you do, your head is mine. You will die an agonizing death which you will never recover from even in hell." Venom dripped from my tone as my wolf tried to take control, however I remained in control.

I felt a tug on my arm, as I turned around, I found my red looking at me with desperate eyes, "that's my uncle! Please! Let him in!" I stared at her as if she had said the strangest thing. "Darling we can't, he's an enemy. I'd be damned if I let in an enemy."

Her eyes were desperate as they filled with tears that were soon to shed. I sighed, I couldn't help seeing my beloved cry. I turned back to the wretched man Infront of me, "Get your soldiers out of my castle, and we'll talk." Was all I said before an arrow came shoot from behind the man and straight to my reds body. I tried to block the arrow but I was to slow, for it had already made contact with her body. I whipped my body around and faced her falling figure.

"ADELINE!", my loud voice boomed across the now open room, I held her by her waist and placed my hand around the arrow that had landed only inches away from her heart. Her eyes where still slightly open, her body was shivering from fright, her tears had cascaded down her cheeks, " darling... keep breathing, talk to me.." her hand moved up to my cheek and brushed away a...a tear. I was crying.

"I-I'm very...very tired, c-can I sleep?..."my optics widened as hers began to close shut, " NO! Don't! Stay awake my red, please..." I pleaded as I cradled her in my arms. Her body was beginning to decrease it's heat temperature, it...it scared me.

No one has been able to make me feel these emotions except for her. I have never cried Infront of people, I have never pleaded to anyone before, I have never been scared before. But she only could make me feel any of those emotions.

Her half open optics glanced at me as she smiled weakly, "I'm sorry...i-it was nice meeting you..m-my soul..mate." those were the last words I heard as her eyes shut completely, I felt my heart turn to ice inside of me, it felt like i had forgotten how to breath. My hands were trembling, and my eyes widened.

"No, no, no, no. Come back..COME BACK."

the doors were burst open, and the healer came in from them. He came running towards us. although I payed him no mind, until he came to take my love away from me, "s-sir..I have to take her so I can help her with her injury."

I glanced up at him with my Piercing eyes, glaring up at him while I cradled her in my arms more, "sir please, she'll die if we leave her like this." Ignoring him, I got up from my knees with my red in my arms. I began walking speedily towards the packs health Centre.
