━─── The air in the forest has always been fresh, but carries a bit of damp and crisp that's imbued with the rich smell of earth, moss, and wood. It was relatively peaceful, especially with the chirping of birds.
However, the crude, rundown shack house right in front of you look so out of place. It looks run down and....dirty. You weren't that picky in your place, but the thought of having children living in this shack makes you feel a bit of pity.
’Well...at least they have a place to live.’ you thought, trying to fool your own self into staying positive while Garp was banging his fist into the door.
“This place...looks worse than I expected.” you uttered, stepping closer to examining the shack. The roof was patchy with mismatched shingles, some of the windows were broken and the laundry looks like some rags clothes. A layer of grime and dirt seemed to coat the structure of the house. You couldn't help but pursed your lips. This is where you're supposed to stay? For how long?
“Stop it!! Whoever you are, do you wanna get killed?!!” the door swung open with a burly woman having orange strands of hair yelling angrily at Garp, which is extremely daring.
Knowing Garp, that's probably something he wouldn't appreciate. And guess what? You were right. The old man's eyes sharpened as he uttered sternly.
“It's me.”
The woman froze and finally looked at the person who's knocking, that is, Garp, and blinked before her eyes widened as she took a few steps back in shock like she just saw the most horrifying ghost in the world.
“G-Garp-san!”
Her shock and visibly horrified words caused two other bandits to appear behind the curtains, also looking at Garp in shock and fear. Their reaction was...very much understandable. You can relate to them in a way, because Garp has been a thorn in your side the very moment you met him.
“You're looking good.” Garp commented, causing you to side eye him judgementally while you wondered which part of these people looked good becuase in your eyes, they look stressed.
As if to prove your thoughts correct, the woman's face fell at Garp's words, like she was about to breakdown. “Give me a break! Please, you gotta have mercy on me! Ace and Luffy are already old enough, when are you planning on taking them away?”
