The gunshot rang out loudly. hitting the criminal's hand. He cried out as the gun fell to The ground. Stepping back, he clutched his injured hand, blood seeping through his fingers. Seeing the opportunity. The terrified hostage broke free from his grasp.

“Run!” Jin yelled as he rushed toward the criminal, while Yoongi ran toward the woman.

“Are you okay, mo—” He began, but stopped as he looked more closely at her face and realized she wasn’t his mother.

She nodded her head, panic “I....I am fine."

“Get back!” One of the officers shouted, rushing in to cover Yoongi as Jin and several others moved to apprehend the criminal. “Make sure she gets to safety!”

“Stay close!” Yoongi urged the woman, guiding her away from the scene with other officers.

The criminal lay on the ground, hissing in pain as he tried to twist away from the approaching officers. “You’ll pay for this!” He yelled, blood dripping from his hand. “You don’t know who you’re dealing with!”

“Do all criminals use the same lines?”Jin asked, shaking his head in disbelief. “Every time, it’s the same thing: ‘You don’t know who I am!’”He mimicked the criminal’s voice, rolling his eyes dramatically. “‘You don’t know who you’re messing with!’” Jin straightened up, a smirk on his face as he added, “Honestly, it’s like they all took a class on how to sound tough while being completely pathetic.”

The officers laughed at Jin’s antics,“What’s up with these guys?” Jin continued, crossing his arms. “Do they think they can scare us? It’s more funny than scary.”

The criminal glared at him angrily “You’ll regret this, officer! You think you can just—”

“Yeah, yeah, save it,” Jin interrupted, waving his hand dismissively. “You’re about to see just how much we know about you.” He turned to one of the officers next to him. “Just throw him in jail already.”

The cops bowed Jin and started lifting the criminal to his feet and dragging him toward the patrol car.

Yoongi walked over to Jin, keeping his head down, as Jin stood with his arms crossed not looking at Yoongi.

"I’m sorry," Yoongi finally said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jin turned his head slightly, raising an eyebrow. "For what?"

"For letting my emotions win," Yoongi admitted, a hint of frustration lacing his words. He took a deep breath, before speaking."I shouldn’t have let my fear take over. It almost cost us everything."

Jin's expression softened, and he uncrossed his arms, placing a comforting hand on Yoongi's shoulder. "Hey, don't beat yourself up over it," Jin said, his voice calm and understanding. "I understand why you reacted like this, anyone would have reacted the same way in this situation."

Yoongi shook his head, still looking down. "But I'm a cop, Jin. I'm supposed to stay calm and think clearly, no matter what."
Jin gently squeezed his shoulder. "You’re human, Yoongi, and no human can exist without emotions."

Yoongi looked up at Jin, who looked back at him with an understanding expression."Remember why we became cops in the first place? To protect people, to make a difference? Today, you did just that. You saved that woman's life."

Yoongi looked at Jin, feeling relieved and grateful. "Thanks, Jin. You always help me see things clearly."Jin smiled warmly. "That's what partners are for."

While they shared a moment of understanding, they heard sirens in the background.

"Let's get the paperwork started," Jin said, clapping Yoongi's shoulder. "We've got a report to file and a story to tell."
