Chapter -4

Yoongi nodded and walked alongside Jin toward the patrol car.

As the sun began to set over Muju, Taeminkook  walked together towards their ranted house.

“Where to next?” Jungkook asked.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow,“Nowhere. Don’t you think you’ve had enough excitement for one day after going to jail?” Jungkook pouted, “Come on! That was just a misunderstanding. We were heroes! I thought we’d celebrate our ‘heroic’ actions with a fun night out!”

“I don’t know about celebrating, but it’s really embarrassing that, as cops, we ended up in a cell.” Jimin said
half-amused, half-annoyed expression. “Exactly! It’s not exactly the best look for us. We should probably lay low for a while.”Taehyung laughed.

“Right? I can already imagine the headlines ” Jungkook said laughing. “Three brave officers arrested for disorderly conduct while trying to save a damsel in distress.”

This made Jimin and Taehyung laugh, and as their laughter faded awayJimin crossed his arms, with a serious look “Exactly! That’s why I didn’t want to tell that officer that we are cops!”Jungkook looked at Jimin in surprise. “But we had to! It was our only way out!”

Jimin shot a glare at Taehyung, who was trying to stifle his laughter. “And you! What were you thinking, claiming we’re police officers? You just made everything worse!” Taehyung shrugged, “What? I thought it would make us sound more believable! Plus, we were just trying to help.”

“Help? By getting arrested?” Jimin replied, his voice rising. “Now we’re going to have to explain this whole mess to everyone back home. Do you really think our colleagues will let this slide?”

"I know it shouldn't have happened like this, but just relax, hyung. The officer doesn’t know us or our office branch," Jungkook said, trying to calm Jimin. Jimin shot Jungkook a pointed look. “This isn’t a joke, Jungkook! We’re supposed to be setting an example, not adding to the scandal. What if this gets out? It could ruin our reputations.”

“Come on, Jimin,” Taehyung said, his tone softening. “We really did try to help someone in need. And the fact that Chaeyoung stood up for us means we’re not the bad guys here.”

Jimin sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I know, I know. But it just feels so embarrassing. We’re supposed to protect and serve, not end up as the ones who needed rescuing!”
Jungkook nudged Jimin playfully. “At least we can say we did our part! We didn’t just stand by while someone was in trouble.”

Taehyung wrapped his arms around Jimin's shoulders, “Yah, don’t think too much about it, hmm? It’s our last night here, so let’s not pressure ourselves.”Jimin nodded at Taehyung “You’re right Tae, I just overreacted."

"It’s alright, hyung. Let’s just have something to drink in the room instead of outside."

The two laughed at him, and Jimin ruffled Jungkook's hair. "Well, of course! Let’s go!"

The town was quiet, with no one around. The normally busy main road was still, except for a creaky shutter and the wind rustling through the alleys. Flickering streetlights cast long shadows on the cracked pavement as a woman, who seems at her fifties ( The same women who was a hostage at the store yesterday night)walked alone in the moonlight. Her footsteps echoed in the silence, making her feel even more alone.

As she walked, she felt a strange unease, like someone was following her.The woman walked faster and glanced back, but the street behind her was empty.

Suddenly, a noise broke the silence-a soft shuffle followed by a loud clang, like metal scraping against concrete.Her heart raced as she quickly turned but as she turned, her eyes widened, and she started to run.

As she ran down the empty street, her panic grew. The uneven pavement tripped her, and she fell on the ground.

Before she could catch her breath, a harsh grip yanked her hair, pulling her back hard. Pain shot through her scalp, and she gasped

The figure stood over her, gripping her hair and pulling her head back. She gasped, "Please, leave me alone!"

But the man didn't respond, instead, he pressed a gun against her temple which made her breath catch in her throat. "You shouldn't have done that." He said, his voice low and dark.

"What... what are you talking about?" She managed to say, terror lacing her words.

"You did a sin." He replied, tightening his grip. "And you have to pay for it." His voice was cold,making her feel really scared.

"I didn't do anything! Please, just leave me!" She cried, her voice breaking as tears streamed down her cheeks.

He laughed darkly, the sound echoing through the empty street. "Too late for that," He taunted and with that, he pulled the trigger.

The loud sound of the gunshot echoed in the empty street.

Jin stirred in his sleep when his phone rang. Groggy, he reached for it and looked at the screen. It was Yoongi.

“Yoongi?” he mumbled, still half-asleep. “Do you know what time it is? It’s 3 AM!”

“Yeah, yeah, I know,” Yoongi replied hastily. “But listen, the criminal we caught in the store—Seunghun! He’s escaped!”

“What?!” Jin sat up quickly in bed,“How? When?”

“It’s been twenty minutes since we realized."

“Okay, I’m coming!” Jin said before hanging up and preparing to leave.As he reached the police station, he heard sirens in the distance, creating a feeling of urgency. Jin parked quickly, and they rushed inside, where Yoongi was there talking with other officers as other were already gathered around a monitor, reviewing the footage from the cell.

“Any sign of him?” Jin asked, joining the crowd.

“We're just checking the CCTV footage,” Yoongi replied.

Jin turned to the officer who was monitoring the footage. “Jimin, did you get any information?”

“Yes, sir, it's here,” Jimin responded, fast-forwarding through the video.

Jin and Yoongi moved closer to the screen to find out exactly what had happened.
