One stormy night on the rocky plains of Badlands, two alicorns fled for their lives as their being chased by an unknown threat. The elder and the younger alicorn navigated through the violent storm until they spotted a small cave not far from view. They hurried inside and remained quiet, hoping their pursuer hadn't seen them. Soaking wet, the young alicorn was terrified of what might happen next.

"What's going on? I- . . . I'm scared . . . why is he chasing us? Please tell me already . . ." The young alicorn clutched the elder's hoof tightly, trembling and in tears. "H-How long do we have to hide here?"

"S-Shh . . . be quiet Luna . . . " The elder alicorn replied quietly. "Everything's going to be alright, as long as we stay put."

He placed its wing over Luna, keeping her warm. But the young alicorn didn't feel calm without reassurance and continued to ask questions.

"What exactly happened between you two?"

"Luna, it isn't your concern. This is between him and me, don't ask any more questions."

"You're always hiding secrets. Why won't you tell me?"

He sighed and then turned to Luna, gently rubbing her head. "Listen . . . I apologize for dragging you into this mess. It's just that it's . . . difficult to explain at the moment."

"But . . ." Her ears dropped as she sat next to him. "Where did you run off to all this time? You said you'd go somewhere with him and return at the end of the season, but you didn't."

The alicorn turned his head toward the entrance. "Nowhere special . . . a lot has happened since I left Equestria. I had time to improve my alternative magic, and with his help, I progressed faster. But along the way, I found something from the past that shouldn't have been rediscovered. When he found out, he tried to claim it for himself. I'm not sure what he's planning, but knowing him, it's definitely for something with bad intentions."

"Bad intentions? What do you mean-"

Then a loud explosion interrupted them. Luna hid under the alicorn's wing as the cave shook from the force of the blast. Just outside, their pursuer called out to the alicorn in the pouring rain.

"I know you're out there somewhere. . ." The pursuer smirked as he looked around and spotted a pile of boulders forming a hill. Without warning, he blasted it into dust and continued firing around the area. "Sooner or later you'll run out of places to hide, and once I find you . . . I won't think twice on killing you in this place."

"Keep your head down!" The noise of the explosion outside caused the rocks above to start falling on them. The alicorn couldn't bear it; he stood up and slowly exited the cave.

"W-where are you going?" Luna followed behind. "Y-you're not planning on facing him on your own, are you?" She grabbed onto his tail.

"I don't have a choice Luna." He said as he pulled his tail away. "I have to accept my fate and finish this mess once and for all."

"What? No!" Luna then pulled the alicorn's wing, trying to stop him. "You can't! He'll kill you out there!"

"He'll kill both of us if we stay here. He doesn't know you're with me, so this is a good chance for you to escape." He pulls his wing back and continues walking.
