SAIRA:- Hiii
Thegirlnextdoor welcome to hearing the ✨ unheards ✨SHREYA:- Thank you Saira, I’m so excited!
SAIRA:- Before starting with questions please tell me a nick name because I can't call you thegirlnextdoor every now and then 😭🤣
SHREYA:- Haha, understood. You can call me Shreya, that’s my name!
SAIRA:- Ooo nice name ✨
How are you Shreya?
SHREYA:- I am good , having a lot creative brusts these daysSAIRA:- Looks like we are getting something new to read soon!!
SHREYA:- I do have a lot of novel ideas in the pipeline! Just need the time to actually bring it to life😅
SAIRA:- How does your writing journey started Shreya?
SHREYA:- It actually started with a very funny story. I was working on a boring science project and then suddenly an idea in my head! His Reporter Biwi. I did not waste a second to pen down the first chapter and hit the publish button. That’s how my writing started!
SAIRA:- Ooo , I have readed that story and it was adorable.
I guess most of the writers do get the their best or first ideas in the most unexpected waySHREYA:- Haha that’s the creative bone in us which only uncovers itself in the most boring of situations😝
SAIRA:- Yeah
What does your pen name means Shreya? Like is their any story behind this name 'thegirlnextdoor'.SHREYA:- My pen name is meant to feel simple and relatable. I chose it because I wanted to come across as someone familiar, like the girl you might know from your own life. There’s no big story behind it—just the idea that my writing should feel like talking to a friend, sharing everyday experiences and emotions that anyone can relate to!
SAIRA:- Mmmhmm that sounds so cozy.
Where do you get the ideas for your story?SHREYA:- My mind works in strange ways. I get ideas out of nowhere, literally! Sometimes they pop up when I’m bored or just daydreaming. It could be from something as random as a conversation, traveling, or even while I’m doing nothing at all. Ideas just kind of show up when I least expect them so I try not to think too hard!
SAIRA:- Wow.....
What inspires you to write Shreya?SHREYA:- Daily life, little experiences, fairy tales, and a bit of imagination. I find stories in the small, everyday moments and the feelings we all go through. Whether it’s a simple conversation or a heated debate, everything I feel, see and know inspires me to write.
SAIRA:- The true writer spirit where you don't care what is happening but if it's interesting 'pen it down'
SHREYA:- That is so well put!
SAIRA:- What is your characters inspired from?
SHREYA:- All my head honestly! But their traits are inspired from various people I meet in different walks of my life.
SAIRA:- So who would be the one character you would like to become if given a chance?
SHREYA:- I don’t think I have written that character yet but from the ones I have already written, Shivika from The Royal Sentence is the one I feel the closest to.
SAIRA:- Why?
SHREYA:- Because while writing her, I didn’t have to put in much effort, it felt completely natural, as if her character flowed effortlessly from me.
SAIRA:- Woww
She must resembles you alot then?SHREYA:- Not really! Her life was so tough, completely in contrast with mine, but somehow, the raw emotions in her always felt so real to me. Even though we were nothing alike, I connected with her struggles, and it felt like I understood her on a deeper level, as if her story was a part of me.
SAIRA:- How do you manage your real life while being a secret writer Shreya??
SHREYA:- It’s not much of a secret anymore. Many people close to me already know that I’m a writer, but I’ve always held off telling my parents. I want to share that part of me with them only when I feel like I’ve written something truly meaningful. Something they can be proud of. I want that moment to feel special, when I can hand them a book that reflects my best work.
SAIRA:- Sooo poetic...
Mmmhmm I am sure they will be proud to read your books one day.
Shreya is their any special message that you want share through your writing??SHREYA:- All my books try to give one single message - Respect is what people need and love is what they deserve. Everything else will fall into place if your heart is in the right place.
SAIRA:- That's so true , one needs to respect their selves for others to respect them as well as one should respect others to expect respect from others.
SHREYA:- That’s what I aim to convey 💖
SAIRA:- With this let's end the interview here .✨💖Thank you so much for giving your precious time here.💝SHREYA:- Thank you so much for these questions, it was super fun talking to you💖
