Lily sat at Chloe's kitchen table, the glow of the evening sun casting long shadows across the room. The air between them was heavy, filled with the unspoken thoughts of betrayal, anger, and the promise of retribution. Her emotions, raw and jagged, had settled into a slow-burning fury. She was no longer the heartbroken girlfriend seeking answers—she was a woman scorned, calculating her next move.

Chloe poured two glasses of wine, sliding one across the table toward Lily. "I know you're hurting, but you can't let him get away with this. What he did—what he's still doing—is unforgivable."

Lily took a sip of the wine, its sharpness matching the bitter taste that had been lingering in her mouth since learning about David's double life. She didn't want forgiveness. She didn't want closure. She wanted him to feel the same pain that had been ripping through her, the slow, methodical torture of knowing everything you believed was a lie.

"I'm not going to confront him—not yet," Lily said, her voice low and measured. "He doesn't deserve that satisfaction. If I blow up now, he'll just weasel his way out of it, twist the truth like he always does."

Chloe leaned forward, her eyes narrowing. "So what's the plan? How do we make him pay?"

Lily set the glass down, her fingers tracing the rim as she thought. "I want him to feel the weight of his lies. I want him to lose everything, little by little, until he's left with nothing. But I'm going to do it in a way that he won't see coming."

Chloe smirked. "I like the sound of that. We expose him, bit by bit."

Lily shook her head. "Not just expose him. I want him to suffer the way I've been suffering. I want him to watch his life unravel—like a web slowly disintegrating around him. Public humiliation isn't enough. This needs to be personal."

She had spent the last few nights lying awake, running through scenarios in her mind. Every possible confrontation with David ended in frustration—he was too smooth, too convincing. If she attacked him head-on, he would just manipulate the situation and turn it around on her, like he always did. But if she played the long game, she could outmaneuver him, get ahead of him before he even realized what was happening.

"We start with information," Lily continued, her voice cold with determination. "I need more evidence. I've already gone through his phone, but there's more to uncover. There has to be. I need to find out everything about his relationship with Lauren—how long it's been going on, what she knows, what he's told her. And I need to know about the lies he's been telling her too. If I can get her on my side, it'll hit him even harder."

Chloe nodded, her lips pursed in thought. "You're right. If Lauren finds out she's been duped too, she could be an ally. I can help dig through his social media, his contacts. Maybe even set up a meeting with Lauren. Make her understand what kind of man David really is."

Lily leaned back, her mind racing with possibilities. "Yes, but I want to control the narrative. We need to be careful with how we approach her. If we push too hard, she might shut down or, worse, tell David. I need her to see that she's been living a lie too, without me coming off as the bitter girlfriend looking for revenge."

Chloe tapped her nails on the table, thinking. "We could feed her small pieces of information—anonymously. Make her doubt David before we drop the bombshell."

Lily's eyes lit up at the idea. "Exactly. Plant the seeds of doubt. Let her start questioning everything. Maybe she'll even confront him herself, and when she does, I'll be there to push the final button."

She stood up, pacing the length of the kitchen, her mind running faster now. "But I want more than just that. I want to dismantle his whole life, piece by piece. His career, his reputation—everything."

"Mr. Patel," Chloe said suddenly.

Lily stopped pacing, her eyes narrowing. "What about him?"

"David's been hiding this affair for years. What if his bosses at work find out? You know how much his career means to him. A scandal like this could ruin everything."

A slow smile spread across Lily's face. "Yes. We can leak it to Mr. Patel. Carefully, of course. David's so cocky, he thinks he's untouchable. But if I expose him at work, it'll destroy him professionally. He won't be able to smooth-talk his way out of that."

Chloe grinned. "And he'll lose his job, his precious image. We can make sure of that."

Lily could feel the fire building inside her, fueling her determination. The thought of David scrambling, trying to pick up the pieces of his crumbling life, brought her a sense of satisfaction she hadn't felt in days. But this was just the beginning.

"Before we get to Mr. Patel, I'll keep playing the role of the good girlfriend. I won't give David any reason to suspect what's coming. He'll think I'm oblivious, that I'm still under his spell. But when the time is right, I'll strike."

Chloe clinked her glass against Lily's. "To playing the long game."

Lily took a deep breath, steadying herself. "To making David pay."

She felt empowered for the first time since this nightmare began. No longer the victim, she was in control now, pulling the strings of her own revenge. David had lied, manipulated, and betrayed her—but soon, he would regret underestimating her.

As the evening wore on, Lily and Chloe strategized, their conversation fueled by the thrill of their plan. They mapped out every detail, from how to monitor David's actions to how to slowly chip away at his relationship with Lauren. It was meticulous, calculated, and, most of all, satisfying.

By the end of the night, they had their outline. Lily would gather more evidence, slowly feed Lauren doubts, and subtly plant seeds at David's workplace. Chloe would help orchestrate the social media side of things, watching for any movements or suspicious behavior from David.

Lily's hands trembled with adrenaline, but there was no turning back now. The web David had spun around her life was about to be unraveled—thread by thread.
