"Cute couple shit? Really? Don't sound too thrilled" Lando laughs as he answers Max's text.
"I'm excited to see them but I'd also like to keep you to myself. I'm greedy like that"
"You still have me to yourself baby. It's not like they're sharing a bed with us" Lando laughs rolling his eyes causing me to shove him lightly.
"We won't be sharing a bed if you continue being cheeky"
"Enjoy the couch then Lu" Lando laughs walking into his bedroom.
"You're a dick!" I laugh eventually following Lando to the bedroom where I find him with a cocky smirk on his face. He knew I'd follow him.
It's now Saturday night and Liv and Max arrived earlier today. I spent the afternoon with Liv just catching up on life while Lando and Max decided to stream. It's been such a chilled day so far I find myself wondering what it would be like if we all lived in Monaco full time.
"We need to talk to you both that's really why we wanted to come and see you this weekend" Liv tells me as we all stand in the kitchen having just came back from having tea at one of the nicest Italian restaurants I've ever been to.
"What do you mean?" I ask looking between Liv and Max confused at what is going on.
"There's something we wanted to say but it was best done in person" Liv says handing me a something that is wrapped up. It's a near flat square type thing that feels like a picture frame and I have no idea what is happening.
"You need to open it together it's for you both" Max says looking at Lando causing him to move next to me "go for it whenever you're ready" looking at Lando I start to rip off the wrapping paper to find a letter board in front of me.
"Oh my god! Fuck off! There's no way!" My eyes fill with tears of joy as I read the letters in front of me 'Baby Fewtrell due April 2025' "no way! What the actual fuck! I'm so happy for you!" Realising my best friend in the whole entire world is going to be a mum I let the tears fall as I pull her into the biggest cuddle "congratulations to you both"
"Don't cry or you'll set me off" Liv says cuddling me tighter "there's no one I'd want more to be my baby's auntie"
"I'm going to be there every step of the way!"
"Congratulations mate. I never would have expected this" Lando says hugging Max and I know he's over the moon for his best friend.
"Well you know, you're a good uncle to Oliver's girls I thought you might as well become an uncle again" as Lando and I take in the news we've just been given, Liv shows me a scan photo making this seem so much more real. My best friend is going to be a mum.
"Baby was most likely conceived around the time we were at Tomorrowland so will definitely be a raver like their mum, dad, auntie and uncle" Liv tells me with so much pride. This baby is going to be the making of her "and there was everyone thinking you'd be the first one to have a baby" Liv nudges me as she says this. It's true. Everyone over the years for some reason always thought I'd have a baby before any of my friends.
"I want kids eventually but I'm enjoying my life far too much to have them now. Don't get me wrong if it happened it wouldn't be the end of the world but I think it'll be a few years before I'm ready" Lando and I haven't even had a conversation about kids yet. I know he's amazing with everyone's kids but that doesn't mean he wants any of his own.
"It's definitely scary when it's not expected but I think now we're over the initial shock we're both excited" Liv says resting her hand on the small bump that I realise now is more than a food baby from the pasta we've eaten "can I ask you one thing?"
"You can ask me anything Liv"
"I've got the envelope from the place we went to for an early gender scan and I would love for you two to be the ones to tell us if we're having a boy or girl. You can do it whatever way you want but we just think it will be special coming from you two" Liv tells me looking between me and Lando. There's no way I'd ever turn this down.
"Of course we'll do it! Leave it with me and we'll sort something" my brain is going a million miles per hour thinking of what I can do for Liv and Max. I only have a short time but it needs to be something amazing. "Do you want kids?" I ask lying in bed with Lando a few hours later, his fingers trailing up and down my back.
"Eventually I'd love kids. I think I agree with what you were saying to Liv. I'm not ready yet but if an accident was to happen I wouldn't love that baby any less just because it wasn't planned" pulling myself closer to Lando I'm relieved we're on the same page "would you want a boy or girl?"
"I want to be a boy mum. I don't see myself with girls, if I have a girl she's going back where she came from. I think from being an only child I would like to have two kids if the universe allowed though" growing up I've always wondered what it would be like to have a sibling going through exactly what you are, from a young age I decided my goal would be to have two children so they have each other.
"Somehow I don't think you can choose or send a baby back. Would you be disappointed if you were to ever have a daughter? Two would be a nice number but I'd also like three. Two boys and a girl"
"I don't know if I'd say disappointed but I just don't see myself with a daughter" turning to look at Lando I rest my chin on his chest "why don't we revisit this conversation in like 3 years when I'm 27 I feel like by that age we might be ready and mature enough to consider becoming parents"
"Three years sounds reasonable. That's three years of practice before the real thing" Lando says with a smirk on his face and the way his hand is exploring my body I know he only has one thing on his mind.
