So, here's the thing: I didn't mean to get kicked out of Heaven.

You'd think saving dogs & cats would be a noble cause, right? I mean, who wouldn't want to give man's best friends a little more time on Earth? Turns out, the Almighty and company have very strict rules about "mortal life cycles" and "not messing with the natural order." Yeah, who knew?

I guess when you secretly extend the life of all the dogs & cats  on Earth, some people-angels-get a little touchy about it. So, what's a girl to do? I had to face the consequences.

And by consequences, I mean being yeeted straight into the Netherworld, where demons live, work, and do demon-y things. My wings? Still here, though they're not quite as bright as they used to be. My halo? Well, let's just say it's collecting dust somewhere in Heaven's lost-and-found. Now, I'm stuck here as the newest resident of Babylis Demon School, the least heavenly place in existence, and I've been assigned to the Misfit Class This should be interesting.

As strange as it sounded, being sent to the Netherworld wasn't the worst thing that could've happened. Sure, losing my halo stung for about a minute, and my wings weren't quite the brilliant, glowing feathers of Heaven anymore, but still-I had wings. I had a second chance. And this place? It was wild, unpredictable, full of energy. A part of me was excited.

So, yeah, I was supposed to be "punished," but honestly, what kind of punishment involved working at a school with a bunch of mischievous demon kids? That sounded more like an adventure than a prison sentence. I'd made peace with my fall from grace ages ago. Now, it was time to embrace whatever this strange new life had to offer.

And Babylis? This place was like nothing I'd ever seen. The towering gothic architecture was almost intimidating, with its dark stone walls, looming gargoyles, and swirls of Netherworld energy that hummed in the air. But it was also... kind of homey, in a weird way. It had character. It had life.

When I spotted Sullivan standing near the entrance, his broad smile lighting up his already larger-than-life presence, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and familiarity. He'd been the first to greet me when I'd landed here, and honestly, he felt more like an old friend than a headmaster.

"Y/N!" he called out, his voice booming cheerfully as I approached. "There you are! I was starting to think you were off exploring the Netherworld on your own already!"

I laughed, my wings fluttering lightly behind me. "Wouldn't dream of starting without you. Figured I'd at least see where I'm working before I get lost in this place."

Sullivan chuckled and clapped a hand on my shoulder with friendly enthusiasm. "Good to see you haven't lost that positive spirit! The Misfit Class is going to adore you."

"I'm counting on it," I replied with a grin. "I've heard they're a bit of a handful, though."

Sullivan waved off my concern, leading me toward the school's grand doors. "Oh, they're nothing you can't handle. Besides, with your background, I think you'll be exactly what they need."
