Chapter three

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the twin's bedroom. She stirred awake, heart racing as memories of the previous night flooded back—the kiss with Fred during truth or dare felt surreal. It had been thrilling and terrifying all at once. Laughter and teasing echoed in her mind, and now the gravity of the moment settled in. She turned slightly in bed and noticed Fred still asleep in his bed, his face relaxed and peaceful.

Amelia took a moment to admire him, her heart fluttering as she recalled how they had kissed. Did he think it was just a game? Was it more for him? As she lay there, her thoughts swirled, and she found herself wishing he'd wake up and just say something—anything—about what had happened.

Eventually, Fred stirred, his eyes slowly fluttering open. A sleepy smile broke across his face when he saw Amelia, and for a brief moment, the tension of the previous night melted away. "Morning," he said, his voice still thick with sleep.

"Morning," she replied, a shy smile playing on her lips. They shared a lingering gaze, and Amelia's heart raced. Should they talk about it now?

"What's on your mind?" Fred asked, propping himself up on one elbow, clearly sensing the shift in the air.

"Um... about last night..." Amelia started, feeling her cheeks flush. Fred's smile faded slightly, replaced with a more serious expression. "Yeah, that."

Just then, the door swung open, and George poked his head in, a mischievous grin on his face. "Hey! So, how was your night, lovebirds?"

Amelia's cheeks burned as she shot a glance at Fred, who looked equally flustered. "George! Can't you knock?" Amelia exclaimed, trying to hide her embarrassment. "Sorry, but everyone's talking about your kiss," George teased, stepping into the room. "Ginny has been going on and on about it, and the others are waiting for the details!"

Fred and Amelia exchanged a quick look, a mix of amusement and dread passing between them. "Great. Just what we need," Fred muttered. Amelia took a deep breath, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. "Well, should we just go downstairs and face them?" she suggested, trying to sound casual. "Let's just get it over with," Fred replied, managing a smile. They gathered their things and walked out of the room, both feeling the weight of the moment. As they made their way downstairs, the chatter grew louder. They entered the kitchen to find their friends gathered around the table, eyes wide with anticipation.

"Spill the beans!" Ginny exclaimed, practically bouncing in her seat. "We all saw you two last night! What was it like?"

Amelia felt her cheeks heat up again. "It was... unexpected," she admitted, glancing at Fred for support. "Unexpected? That's one way to put it," Ginny teased, winking at them. "Did it feel as amazing as it looked?" Fred chuckled nervously, glancing around the table at their friends' eager faces. "It was part of the game, but it definitely felt different. I mean, it was a kiss, but it was also... special?"

"Special how?" Ron pressed, leaning in closer, his curiosity evident.

Amelia glanced at Fred, and he nodded, encouraging her to continue. "I think we both realized there might be something more between us," she said, her heart racing as she spoke. The room erupted into cheers and playful banter, but before they could dive deeper into the conversation, Mrs. Weasley entered the kitchen, arms full of fresh pastries. She beamed at the group. "Good morning, everyone! Who's hungry?"

"Good morning, Mrs. Weasley!" they chorused, trying to contain their excitement. Ginny couldn't resist, though. "Did you hear? Fred and Amelia had their first kiss last night!" Mrs. Weasley paused, her eyes flicking between Fred and Amelia, a surprised smile creeping onto her face. "Oh! Isn't that lovely? But dear, I hope you two didn't get too carried away." Amelia's face turned crimson as she glanced at Fred, who looked equally flustered. "It was just a kiss, Mum," Fred managed to say, his voice slightly strained. "Just a kiss? That's how it always starts!" Mrs. Weasley replied with a teasing glint in her eye, clearly delighted by the prospect of young love blossoming among her children's friends. "Just remember, lovebirds, take your time and be respectful of each other."
