Huddled over his stacks of papers Katsuki Bakugo irritably rubbed his temples when he realized what time it was. Normally he wouldn't clock out a minute before his shift was over but today was a little different.
Scribbling down his name on the bottom of the report he'd been working on, he wasn't sure whether it was a curse or a blessing when he felt his phone buzz, and he saw the name on the screen. Silencing it, he slid it back in his pocket before it started up again. This went on for a good five minutes before he decided to finally answer it.
"Sorry, got the wrong number."
"Katsuki you little shit! Why did it take you so long to answer a goddamn phone?!"
"Could be because I knew it was you." He cheekily smirked when he heard his mother shouting at his dad.
"See I told you that brat was doing it on purpose!"
"Hey Katsuki!"
"Hey dad." He responded back when he heard his dad in the background. "Kinda busy right now. What do you want?"
"Busy doing what?" Mitsuki asked in an accusatory tone that told him she was calling for a reason he probably wouldn't like.
"Helping an old lady and kid across the street." He could practically picture his mom rolling her eyes by now.
"Seriously? You expect me to believe you have the patience to do that?"
"I'm talking to you, aren't I?"
"Katsuki..."
"Alright fine if you really want to know, I was ringing that stupid bell people ring in front of supermarkets to help raise awareness of people who refuse to take their medication knowing firsthand what it'll do to people you know who don't."
"Oh, you think that's funny?"
"Kinda is."
"Look Katsuki, I'll let that slide because after all I still consider you my son."
"Yay to me."
"But!" She sternly cut in. "I also understand that doing what you do does take a lot of your time and stress."
"How? From all your years working alongside All Might as one of his sidekicks?" He silently chuckled when he heard his mother let out an aggravate groan.
"Wow you're seriously extra shitty today." She acknowledged. "But would you just hold off and listen for once?"
"Fine but you better make it fast, I'm helping a bunch of handicapped people try and get up a ramp."
"Are you done?" Mitsuki asked, placing her hand on her hip while Masaru quickly covered his face with the newspaper he had been reading to hide the smile on his face when she shot him a look.
"For now."
"When are you coming to visit?"
"Not sure yet." He rubbed his hand on top of his spiky hair as he glanced at the clock.
"Why don't you come by today and I'll make you your favorite dinner?"
"Who are you and what have you done with my mom?" He smirked into his phone as he leaned forward. "Whoever it is that's holding a gun to your head say the word Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis."
"How I put up with you I have no idea."
"Trust me...I'm sure you're not the only one thinking that right now." He muttered remembering what had happened with his partner earlier and how much of an ass he made himself out to be yet again. Pinching the bridge of his nose he tried not to let it bother him the way it still did. And hopefully he'll be able to make up for it later. "Alright listen I'll try and swing by later tonight, but right now there's someplace I need to get to."
