I stare at the screen in front of me in utter confusion. I'm starting to wonder if I have any common sense or if my upbringing has made me so alienated to normal life that I can't even understand the basic functions of a touchscreen till.
The buttons are obvious, with items on the menu clearly written in brightly coloured squares and yet I've still to figure out what the hell I'm supposed to be doing.
"What does this button do again?" I screw my face up looking at the till like it's in gibberish.
It may as well be with how difficult it is for me to understand.
"Tells you the change." Jodi explains.
"And I should hit it after they give me money?" I ask trying to make sense of this nonsense.
"Yes." She chuckles at my confusion.
I think this is the third time I've asked this question today. My first official shift. It's fun if you don't count the rude customers, awkward food orders and chefs yelling at everything and everyone.
As I hand the customer their change, Jodi leaves me to try alone. I notice the man I just served leave looking incredibly bored. Yeah well me too. I roll myself eyes at him and look back down to the till as I await the next customer.
"What can I get for you?" I sigh feeling my soul leave my body with how bored I am.
"How about a minute alone with you in the back?"
As I'm about to curse out the fourth guy to have a crude answer to that question, I look up and realise it's Jungkook. He wears an amused smirk as he looks me up and down lightly biting into his lip. His hands are stuffed into the pockets of his black cargo trousers and his tattoos look like they're moving every time he flexes his arm.
I clear my throat and tear my eyes away looking to Avery currently with her back to me as she makes drinks.
"Avery could you take over for a second?" I ask motioning at Jungkook with my eyes.
She looks between us and nods eagerly, an excited grin forming on her face as she takes to the till. I step out from behind the counter ready to drag him the whole way outside the building for visiting me in work.
"Aww look at you in your little apron." He coos, reaching for the small piece of material.
I slap his arm whilst he laughs and drag him desperately through the building. I feel like everyone is watching me. They probably are though, there's a stranger that doesn't work here walking through the kitchen.
"Ooo where are we going?"
This man has some nerve. Trying to seduce me in work? Not gonna happen.
I drag him outside and close the door behind me, "What the hell are you doing here?" I hiss.
