Jimin felt nervous as he fiddled with his bracelet with gloved hands letting the colour move over the red band that inched on his wrist and adjusted his nasal cannula. He pushed himself a bit too far given his illness was getting worse but they finally reached the say where Taehyung would be let out of bedrest and if Jimin didn't make the most of the opportunity then he would have slapped himself for that.
Hoseok had been a large help in it all and mostly given he had never seen a beach up close or if he had it had been too long for him to remember it but with them not allowed to go out of the hospital he felt satisfied with what they achieved. Somehow the whole roof was decorated to fit a cheesy beach scene from a movie but he knew it was something that Taehyung would love.
Jimin wasn't sure how they got access to use the roof given it was a supposed secret hang out but since they signed a paper saying that his nurse was around him every single minute checking on him and making sure he was protected from germs with gloves and his nasal cannula he needed to use from how weak his breathing was the previous night but it also came paired with his nurse needing to double check on him so many times it was irritating.
Hoseok had left to get Taehyung and get him safety proofed with health things like gloves and a mask as well as a wheelchair since he wasn't allowed to walk for such long distances so far with his weakened state. All of this was still perfectly fine and still fit with the plan but it just made Jimin so nervous as he kept seeing Nurse Min glance at him with concern as she kept viewing his health.
He was fine...just nervous
It had been too long since he had seen Taehyung and not even his bad day in health could stop him from doing this for Taehyung. Everything was in place and it somehow felt like a big event that he planned with a big outcome being expected even though it was something small yet meaningful he wanted to show to his friend.
It was also the time he was going to show Taehyung he really saw him as a friend, no more than a friend, he saw Taehyung as family even with the short time they knew each other but the sunny boy certainly had something right in his words when he called them platonic soulmates.
He wasn't far away from believing it was actually true but a stubborn side of him didn't want to admit it. Taehyung surely made him softer but not at the point he would admit something so big so soon even if he admitted it slightly in his mind.
Jimin gave one last glance around and smiled when he saw Hoseok send a thumbs up before he jogged out of the door to get Taehyung. He startled when he heard a small laugh near him and he turned to his nurse who smiled at him with soft eyes he had never seen on her before.
He tilted his head and question which made her step a bit closer before she began to speak. "You know when I heard rumors of the Park Jimin smiling and running around while also supposedly going on a mission to steal more than 60 mini pudding cups I thought they were pulling a prank on me since they knew Taehyung fought everyone to stay with you when yoi were sick. Just think how surprised I was when I saw the change happen with my own eyes and now the grumpy boy that refused to even give the tiniest smile turned into a blue haired smiling boy" She teased with her last words but took on a more serious expression still with a soft smile.
"But in all honestly I'm happy that you finally have a smile on your face. You are like a son for all of us at the hospital and we watched you grow up even if some of us didn't have you in our care until recently. It's good to see you've grown up into such a kind soul even with all the misfortunes in your life" Jimin stared at her with wide eyes and something ugly crawled up in his chest that made his eyes watery but he blinked it away looking the opposite direction to not let her see.
He never expected this coming from her given that she wasn't someone he saw as a constant person in his life but he also felt guilty for being so dismissive towards the hospital staff. It was true, they had watched him grow up and was there through his good and bad days. They were there for him more than his own parents and now that he finally found a friend he couldn't believe that there was actually people still paying close attention to him to notice it all.
