You and Diego have been together for more than a year now. You loved every moment of it. Even the tough times. It's normal for every relationship to have its ups and downs.
But in the outcome, you guys were always there for each other.
Diego:
Diego turned around to see y/n sprinting towards him. He opened his arms to catch her. She jumped into him screaming, "YOU DID IT!! I CANT BELIEVE IT!!" She said kissing him.
Mexico had won the Gold cup with Diego scoring the last goal and winning the game for the team. "I'm so proud of you babe!" She said holding Diego's head close to hers.
"I love you so much." Diego said pulling her in close and kissing her.
He loved how supportive y/n was. Even when he didn't play well, she always encouraged him.
"Look at this picture of you that i'm gonna post!" Y/n said moving closer to Diego to show him. Everything blurred out for Diego as he was admiring y/n. He was smiling just thinking of how much he loved and appreciated her as he stared at her side profile.
He couldn't believe how he got so lucky with y/n. He regained his focus when y/n turned to look at him and touching his arm. "Have you been listening to me?" She said with a big smile.
"Yea sorry, i just love you so much." Diego said caressing her cheek. "I love you too." she said smiling as she showed her phone to Diego. He always found it adorable how red her face would get when he'd compliment her.

Diego, y/n, and his family went out for dinner after they finished celebrating at the stadium. Diego's family loved y/n.
(Ik i didn't make a chapter of them meeting each others family bc i completely forgot 😭)
After the dinner, Diego and y/n headed back home tired. As Diego got out the bathroom after his shower, y/n said she had a surprise for him. "Close your eyes!" She said excitedly.
Diego covered his eyes confused but curious as to what the surprise can be. "Ok, open them now!"
Diego opened his eyes to see y/n holding a Cartier bag. "No way! Cartier?! What's this for?!?" Diego said shocked.
"Your big win at the game duh! Open it!" y/n said jumping up and down.
Diego had a huge smile on his face as he opened the many boxes and bags he had to open to get to the main gift. It was a diamond bracelet. "HOLY SHIT!! IS IT REAL?!?" Diego said with a shocked expression.
"YES IT REAL!!" Y/n said smiling. Diego placed the box on the bed as he hugged y/n, lifting her from the floor. "Thank you so much amor!! I love the gift!!" Diego said kissing her.
*Next morning*
Diego woke up early because he had an appointment at a jewelry store. He got out of bed while y/n was still sleeping. He had to do everything quietly in order to not wake up y/n.
After her left the house and got some coffee, he texted y/n that he was running errands as he was parked right outside the jewelry place. He was a bit nervous since he was there to pick out an engagement ring for her.
He hadn't asked y/n's parents yet but he was confident they'd approve. The bell rang as Diego walked in. "Hi i have an appointment with Mr. Perez." Diego said to the worker by the register.
"Ah yes, i'll get him for you." The employee said walking away.
Diego looked at the rings in display, looking to see if any of them were up to y/n's standards. He knew she wanted a gold ring with diamonds since he snooped through her Pinterest board one night when she was sleeping.
"Diego, how are you doing? Like any that you see so far?" said Mr. Perez as he noticed Diego looking at the rings.
"Hello Mr. Perez! And i just started looking so i'm not sure yet." Diego said chuckling.
"Well what exactly does your special lady like?" Mr. Lopez said taking out a notepad and pen.
"The ring has to be gold and have diamonds on it. I have a few pictures that i can show you." Diego said taking his phone out to show Mr. Perez.
He had taken screenshots of y/n's pinterest board and shown them to Mr. Perez. "Wow, those are beautiful. What exactly is your limit in price?" Mr. Perez said inspecting the pictures.
"I'm not really worried about the price, i just want the ring to be perfect and for my lady to love it." Diego said smiling.
"Ok then, so you specifically want one of these rings that you've shown me?" Mr. Perez said giving Diego his phone.
"Yes actually, i noticed that she saved multiple pictures of this specific ring." Diego said showing Mr. Perez.
"Alright then. i'll just take a picture of it and us there a specific time you'd like the ring?" Mr. Perez asked.
"Well i'm surprising her with a trip and i'm planning to propose then. So is a month enough time?And can i put a down payment now?" Diego asked.
"Yes a month will work. And of course, this ring will be costly though. Just a heads up." Mr. Perez said.
"I understand. I'll put a 10k down payment today."
"Ok, you'll have 30k left to pay after today's transaction. Is that ok with you?"
"Yes."
Diego paid with his card, said goodbye, and then left to go back home.
Y/n:
You were watching tv when you heard the door open. "I'm back." Diego said going to the kitchen and setting bags on the counter.
"Heyy, what'd you buy?" You said with your eyes focused on the movie.
"Just things we needed, and...this." Diego said coming closer to you on the couch and handing you a box of chocolate chip cookies and flowers.
"Oh my gosh!! Thank you amor!! I love them." You said getting up to give him a kiss and hug.
"Mmm my favorite cookies too." You said placing them on the counter. You removed the plastic around the flowers and placed them in a vase.
The rest of the day you both relaxed at home since you guys had the day off from work.
