She also opted to wait at the altar and she thought that it fits her so well given their history. She wanted to be that someone who waits and waits happily until her bride came towards her.
Ling can count in her two hands the times she remembers herself wanting to cry but during that moment. Her world just simply stopped spinning.
Orm, adorned in an elegant white gown with delicate lace flowing around her, takes each step with nerves and excitement intermingled as she walks down the aisle towards her awaiting Attorney, the soft fragrance of fresh flowers in the air guiding her forward.
Her breath hitched. For her, Orm will always be the most beautiful. Her Aphrodite. But Ling still couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the exquisite beauty radiating from her bride as she steps ever closer, both of them with tears in their eyes as soft smiles were exchanged between. Ling needs to remind herself to even breathe as her heart swelled with so much love as the way the soft light played on Orm's features, accentuating her molten gold eyes and delicate features that always left her awestruck.
She knew it only took a few minutes before they meet halfway of the aisle but Ling felt it was a lifetime's worth of waiting for each step and without a doubt, something that both of them would cherished forever As she gazed into her bride's eyes, emotions of admiration and adoration flooded her very soul.
"You are so beautiful, my love." Ling whispered breathlessly as she reached for her bride and Ling saw how a gentle blush spread across Orm's already tear strained face.
"And so are you." Orm answered and both laughed with tears in their eyes. There's no explanation for that. It was just the way that they felt. Finally, against all odds, they are here. Standing in front of each other, eager to commit to the person they love the most, wanting to make their lives intertwine.
The ceremony was just very simple. After a few words from the Lawyer that Ling is partnered with, comes the vow and Ling realized that she rarely made vows all through her life but all of the one she uttered that does not associate with her profession were all vows she made to Orm. Vows she swore her life that she'll fulfill no matter what.
"My love," Ling started with a smile. She has not prepared any notes but in her heart, she already knows what she wants to say. She doesnt want to get sappy but there's just simply no other way out of it. "Falling in love's not what I had in mind. I promised myself to stop it every single time but you came along and turned my world around. I honestly don't know what love even was before but as I came to know you, I learned that it's a feeling i get when I look in your eyes and you're staring back. I learned that it's when you hold my hand and assure me. It's when you tell me things that you'd never tell anyone else. I know that I'm happy whenever I'm with you but there are dreams to chase, responsibilities I need to fulfill, and parts of myself I need to rebuild. I said to myself that when the time is right, when we are both ready, when I can give my whole being to you, I will give my all without any reservation. That I'll pursue you without hesitation. Thank you for making the chase a little bit easier." Ling chuckled with tears along with the guest and Orm couldn't help herself but roll her eyes and laugh as well. "I vow to be your constant rock, your warmest hug, your favorite name, your closest friend, your fiercest love and everything in between. If life were a maze and we're both lost, I promise we'll get out together. If it's a puzzle, we will solve it. If our mind's a tangled mess, we will both untangle it together, we will talk it out instead of parting ways. I promise that what happened before will not happen again. I promise to be your shelter where you will always be safe and secure, something that you can always count on a rainy day. Thank you for teaching me to dance in the rain and waltz in the storm, my love. I vow to choose you and hold you as constant as the river flows to the sea."
