Raven/Wednesday's POV

Just as I was about to stand and check the door myself, Enid's arms tightened around me, holding me in place. Her growl deepened, almost as if she were warning me not to move.

I sighed, lifting a hand and flicking my fingers. The door creaked open with a faint hum of my powers, revealing Yoko standing there with her usual casual smirk—but her lips parted slightly when she took in the scene.

"Uh... did I walk in on something?" Yoko asked, her brow raising playfully, though her tone held a hint of unease as she glanced at Enid's glowing eyes and bared fangs.

I shook my head, trying to brush it off. "No. Enid's just... acting weird today," I replied, glancing down at the werewolf still holding me like a protective barrier.

Yoko took a cautious step forward into the room, her usual confidence faltering slightly under the weight of Enid’s growl, which grew louder.

"Okay, okay, chill, wolfie," Yoko said, holding up her hands in mock surrender. She stayed by the doorway, scanning Enid with a thoughtful expression. After a moment, she tilted her head and said, "You know, maybe it’s her inner wolf acting up. She just wolfed out for the first time last night, right? Could be she’s not used to the changes yet."

I glanced at Enid, who didn’t seem to acknowledge Yoko's words, her eyes still glowing as she stared at her like a predator sizing up a threat.

"Is this... normal?" I asked, not entirely sure if Yoko’s explanation was sufficient.

Yoko shrugged. "I mean, I’m no werewolf expert, but I’ve heard that first transformations can stir up some serious instincts. She probably feels extra territorial and protective right now. Especially after everything that happened last night."

That made sense, I supposed. Enid had gone through a lot, and her wolf had been thrust into survival mode. But still, the intensity of her reaction concerned me.

"Enid," I said softly, placing a hand on her cheek. Her growling softened slightly at my touch, but her eyes remained locked on Yoko. "It’s just Yoko. She’s not a threat. You can relax."

For a moment, it seemed like she was calming down, but then another low growl rumbled in her chest, her grip on me unwavering.

Yoko crossed her arms, clearly trying not to take offense. "Okay, not gonna lie, this is kind of freaky. But hey, at least we know she’s got your back, right?"

I sighed, glancing between Yoko and Enid. "Yes, but how do we get her to stop acting like I’m about to be attacked at any second?"

Yoko smirked faintly. "Beats me. Maybe give her time to adjust. Or, you know, feed her or something. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do with wolves?"

"Helpful as always," I replied flatly, earning a chuckle from Yoko despite the tension in the room.

Yoko raised a hand thoughtfully, a sly grin forming on her lips. "Alright, I've got an idea," she said, the mischievous undertone in her voice making me raise an eyebrow.

I wasn’t sure I liked where this was going. "What kind of idea?"

Yoko stepped closer, her grin faltering just a little. "I’ll just... you know, take you away from her. Just a few inches. Get her to focus on me instead of being glued to you."

I stared at her flatly. "You want your head bitten off by your werewolf friend?"

Yoko swallowed, her cocky attitude wavering. "Uh... maybe she won’t bite me?" she said, though it sounded more like a question than a confident statement. "Look, we’ve got to help her control this. You do realize there’s a field trip in two days, right? Can you imagine Enid acting like this in front of the whole school?"
