A deep sadness enveloped her heart as his words hung in the air. Slowly, she turned away, feeling the weight of the moment.

"What..." she mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I have to leave for Germany tomorrow. I've been called for a math-"

"So all this is because you're leaving," she interjected softly, her eyes darting around as if seeking an escape from the pain.

His expression shifted, eyes narrowing with concern. "Baby, no-"

"Zaan-" she said, stepping back, only to find him instinctively moving closer.

"Baby, listen to me." He gently placed his hands on her shoulders, grounding her in his presence.

"This isn't because I'm leaving. I did all this because you were sad last night." His voice was a soothing whisper, holding her gaze with sincerity, even as tears threatened to spill from her own.

"So you thought making me even sadder was the answer?" she replied, pulling his hands away, her heart aching at the distance growing between them.

He felt breathless, a storm of emotions swirling within him.

Before he could find the words to bridge the gap, she turned and fled, brushing past the tears that escaped her control, leaving him standing there, lost and alone in the stillness of their shattered moment.

She rushed upstairs, closing the door to their room behind her. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she took a deep breath as the reality of the moment sank in. Zaan was leaving for Germany tomorrow, and she loved him more than anything in the world.

Thoughts swirled in her head like a storm.

"I shouldn't have reacted that way," she mumbled, guilt gnawing at her.

"I can't be a barrier to his success," she whispered, knowing that his dreams were as important as her own heart.

But the thought of him leaving was unbearable. "But I can't just let him go," she murmured, her voice cracking under the weight of her emotions. A tear slipped down her cheek, a silent testament to the turmoil within her.

In that moment, she felt both the love that bound her to him and the fear of losing him, caught in a painful conflict that left her feeling helpless.

She was lost in her thoughts when a soft knock came at the door. Quickly wiping her tears, she straightened as Zaan stepped in quietly. He approached, his heart pounding with a mixture of worry and regret. Her gaze remained fixed on the floor, her expression unreadable.

Slowly, he knelt in front of her, his eyes filled with a tender apology.

"Baby," he murmured, resting a gentle hand on her knee. "I didn't mean to-"

"You should've told me earlier, Zaan." Her voice was calm, but her eyes refused to meet his.

"I only found out yesterday... I wanted to tell you, but you were already so upset, and I didn't want to add to it-"

"It's okay, Zaan," she interrupted, her voice hollow. "We can't change anything now."

"Don't say it like that," he whispered. "If you don't want me to go, I'll reject the offer. I'll stay, baby." His words were soft yet filled with desperation.

Her gaze lifted to meet his, and he saw the hurt and doubt in her eyes, a look that cut through him.

"I'll do whatever you say," he continued, his fingers sliding gently to her wrist. "Just... don't ever doubt my love and everything I do for you. Please." His voice shook, his eyes brimming with unspoken pain. The weight of her reaction crushed him, and she felt a wave of guilt pierce her heart.
