Chaeyoung's hands gripped your collar as she pulled you in for another fevered kiss, her lips capturing yours with a passion that made your knees weak. You smiled against her lips, resting your hands on her waist to steady her as her urgency only deepened.
Just as the moment was about to spiral into something more, the sound of the classroom door creaking open shattered the bubble around you.
"Chaeyoung! Oh, oops!"
A group of girls walked in, their surprised gasps turning into amused laughter as they saw you stumble back.
Chaeyoung pushed you away in a panic, and you landed awkwardly on the floor.
Thinking fast, you dropped into a push-up position, pretending it had all been intentional.
"Uh...just, you know, getting in a quick workout," you said, your voice strained as you tried to mask the pain radiating from your shoulder.
The girls exchanged amused glances, a few even clapping as they admired your form.
"Wow, Misoo, showing off again, huh?" one of them teased.
Chaeyoung's face was red, though whether from embarrassment or anger, you couldn't tell.
"Leave her alone," she muttered, crossing her arms.
After a few push-ups, you stood up, brushing yourself off and forcing a grin despite the dull ache in your shoulder.
You weren't trying to impress them, but the teasing glances they threw Chaeyoung's way made you uneasy.
"Misoo, is it true you're back for Chaeyoung?" one of the girls asked, her voice dripping with curiosity.
Another chimed in, "Yeah, because it's obvious something's going on between you two."
Before you could answer, or defend Chaeyoung, another presence entered the room.
Isabel.
The moment her smirking face appeared in the doorway, the mood shifted.
Her eyes swept over the scene, taking in the girls' curious stares and Chaeyoung's flustered expression.
"Well, isn't this cozy?" Isabel said, sauntering into the room with an air of confidence.
Her gaze flicked to you, lingering just long enough to annoy you. "Misoo, you've got all these girls swooning over you. Should Chaeyoung be worried?"
Chaeyoung scowled. "Isabel, don't start."
Isabel didn't back down.
Instead, she slung an arm around Chaeyoung's shoulders, leaning in closer than necessary. "Oh, come on. It's cute. Look at her, she's so worked up."
You didn't hesitate.
Stepping forward, you pushed Isabel's arm off Chaeyoung, making her stumble slightly.
"Back off, Isabel," you said sharply.
Isabel simply laughed, her smirk widening. "Touchy, aren't we?"
She turned to the other girls. "Let's leave the lovebirds to their... push-ups or whatever."
The girls followed Isabel, giggling amongst themselves as they left the room.
Isabel cast one last smirk your way before disappearing out the door.
As soon as they were gone, Chaeyoung exhaled heavily, her shoulders relaxing. "She's such a pain," she muttered.
