I am writing short stories after such a long time, I had decided that I would finish up Heartless and then get back to it, but since this storyline was appealing, I thought to do it. It took me a really long time to write this, so I hope it turned out to be good. It might be cut down in several parts as well since it is a long one...
From all the books that I have written, I think I have always portrayed Prachi and Ranbir as near to perfect individuals, so I thought to change it a bit. You mind find some resemblance to another serial because that's what inspired it. One of you had sent me videos on that serial, which I don't remember the name...
They wanted me to write on the main lead that's why I watched the videos sent but more than the first main lead, it was the second lead that I found interesting and liked mostly. So, I thought to try it on Pranbir, because they didn't want me to write on the second lead.As it is based on an existing serial, there are many changes in this story: new characters, changes in relationships, in personalities and other changes as well.
Hope you guys will like it.————-
The just-risen sun shone softly on the city streets, bringing with it a flurry of early-morning activity. Many people jogged here and there; some exchanging conversation easily with their partners while some concentrated on the healthier side of this exercise.
And amongst them was a girl who had cut herself off from the world. Her earphones plugged in, she let the soft music consumed her and ran to her well-thought off destination. She stopped as she reached a small bridge over a lake and took in deep breaths.
The fresh morning breeze played with the loose strands of her hair and pushed them away from her beautiful face. The rest of her midnight black hair was tied into a ponytail and flowed down her back. Her soft face, free from any make-up, lit up due to the waking sunrays and she was glowing despite all the sweat beads.
As her eyes stared at the beautiful sky, they revealed a strange detachment from the world. She wiped off the sweat beads from her forehead and was about to sit down for a bit, but her phone began ringing. A soft smile came across her lips as she picked it up.
'Bhai...' Her melodious voice was heard.
'What, Prachi? I told you that we will go jogging together but you didn't wake me up again...'
She chuckled on hearing her brother, Krish, whined over the phone. He was the only who could bring a smile on her face and she absolutely loves her brother.
Prachi: 'Bhai, you were sound asleep when I came to your room. You worked till late last night... don't worry, next time, we will go together.'
Krish: 'Done... Now come back before breakfast.'
Prachi's smile faded and she replied: 'Even if I miss it, no-one will be bothered by my absence.'Krish, sighing: 'Prachi... I will definitely miss you. So, come for your brother...'
Prachi: 'Okay, okay... For you...'
Krish: 'That's like my little sister...' That made her chuckle once again. She hung up and her stoic demeanour was back. She stared at the beautiful sky once again and whispered: 'I miss you...' A sudden sadness filled her but she controlled herself and stood up to head back home.
At Mehra's mansion:
Prachi jogged inside and witnessed the scene she always did every morning. Her grand-mother was preparing everything for breakfast along with her aunt and some servants. She sighed as she saw her grand-father who just came on the table. The other family members: her brother, her little cousin and his parents too. One person was missing though. Prachi walked to the table and took her place next to her brother.
