Maddie's Pov:

As we dropped our bikes outside, I saw Stan's bike was the only bike which was standing. Then when we went in, I saw a poster which said that Patrick Hockstetter was missing. Good grief, at least one of 'em is gone. I thought.

We went in his room. I was looking all around and saw a lot of mysteries about Derry. I guess he's a detective, I would say.

"Cool, huh?" Ben asked.
"No. It's not cool!" Richie exclaimed. I glared at him.
"Richie, can you shut your trashhole and be nice for once?!" I whisper-shouted at Richie who them flipped me off.
"Please continue. I don't wanna hear this one makin' a dirty joke." I explained to Ben who then nodded.

"What's that?" Stan asked, pointing to a paper.
"Wait, that's the Derry township charter, am I right Ben?" I replied. Ben nodded in shock.
"How the hell did you know about these stuff?" Ben asked.
"Um, cause I'm a bookworm? I love reading everything but the cherry on top, I love reading history." I explained. Everyone understood.

"Nerds alert!" Richie joked
"Beep beep Richie!" I exclaimed, almost about to beat his whole self down.

"No, it's actually interesting." Ben explained
"Derry actually started as a beaver trapping camp." I then explained.
"Still is, am I right?" Richie asked.
"Last warning, Tozier!" I glared at him. Everyone chuckled.

"Ninety-one people signed the charter that made Derry, but all of them disappeared without a trace." Ben explained. I cleared my throat and it was my turn to explain.

"There were rumours of American Indians, but no sign of an attack." I explained. Then my eyes were diverted to a picture on the board. I looked at it closely then I saw someone strange, looking at me,
deep in the soul. I glared at it and shrugged it off.

"Wait! What if we get Derry on Unsolved Mysteries!" Richie asked.
"That's a pretty idea you got from your head, wow!" I replied, sarcastically.
"What, really?" Richie asked, wide eyed.
"No! Are you kidding me!" I shouted, making the others flinch. Stan came to stand by my side and patted my back. I calmed down immediately. Meanwhile Bill, desperate to search for his brother, looked at a small projector card showing the old map of Derry.

"W-where's the w-w-well house?" He asked.
"Somewhere in town, I guess." Ben replied. I tensed up, looking serious as ever.
"I know where it is." I finally confessed. Everyone looks at me in shock.
"W-where is it?" Bill asked. This time, he was not joking. I looked at him in the eye, seeing that he's worried for his missing brother.
"Neibolt Street." I said.
"Y'all remember that old crackhead house?" I asked. They nodded.
"The well's in there. But I have a feeling that someone evil is living there. Everytime I walked down that street, it reminded me of my bad and traumatic past. It is then that I sensed a danger, so I ran as quickly as I could." I explained, sighing. "But Bill, promise me, you will never go in that house, got it?" I spoke in a very soft voice.

"G-got it." Bill agreed. Then the time beeped on Eddie's watch. I walked out, saying goodbye to everyone, then left.

Stanley's Pov:

I listened to Maddie's explanation then she said that the house reminded her of her very traumatic past. I decided to stand up and ran out of the house. If it's very traumatic, she shouldn't have to face her losses alone. She needs someone by her side. I thought. Luckily, I saw her walking up the hill. I rode my bike to her.
"Maddie! Wait for me!" I shouted, panting heavily.
"S-stanley? What the heck are you doing here?" She asked.
"I need to ask you something." I asked.
"Yeah, go on, I'm all ears." She replied with a smile on her face.
"Back there, you said that the house reminded you of a traumatic past." I said.
"Yeah, I did." She replied. Then she sighed sadly. "I don't wanna talk about it."
"I promise I won't tell anyone." I said. She smiled.
"Do you remember ....the house that got burnt down in Harris Avenue?" She asked. I nodded.
"Yeah. So my family were living there before. I had my mother, my father, and my older twin brother." She continued. I was shocked.
"You have a twin? We thought you were the only child." I said. She rolled her eyes.
"So...one day, our house got burnt down. My brother and I were the only survivors, while my parents, didn't make it. I...was left....with my brother. Our grandfather took us in, and since then, it was never the same. Everytime after school, the kids always ran to their parents, so very happy to see their parents. While me on the other hand, got made fun of for not having parents by Greta. I cried so hard every night, thinking that this is what happens when you don't have parents. But at least I have people on my side." She explained, then started sobbing. I felt bad for her that I hugged her tightly, letting her emotions out.

"Shhh, it's okay. I am so sorry for your loss, Maddie. I know it's hard living without your parents. But you have us, and especially me." I comforted her, rubbing her back as she sobbed more making my shirt wet from her tears. I gently wiped her tears with my thumb, and blushing hard at the same time. As she stopped crying, she looked at me and smiled.

"Thank you Stan. You're the first person to hear my story and comforted me. You're very kind. I like that personality in you." She thanked me and kissed my cheek. I widened my eyes and she also widened her eyes and looked at me.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do it." She apologized. I quickly hugged her telling her it was okay. She smiled, took her bike and rode off. I looked at her, blushing so hard and touching the cheek that she kissed.

Madeline Hanlon, what have you done to me?  I thought, before smiling.
