Riena’s eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, she was disoriented. The soft, familiar warmth of the living room surrounded her, the smell of old wood and the scent of her mates mingling with the comforting atmosphere. She looked around, blinking through the haze of exhaustion and fear, until her gaze fell upon Kol, Klaus, and Elijah.

A flood of relief washed over her when she saw their worried, but loving expressions. She sat up slightly, her head spinning, and that was when it hit her.

The overwhelming emotion from everything that had happened—the fall, the blood, the pain, and the terror of almost losing her—came crashing down on her all at once. She couldn’t hold it back anymore.

Before anyone could speak, Riena’s chest heaved, and the tears began to fall.

The sound of her sobbing filled the room, and it was as if the weight of the world had suddenly settled on her fragile shoulders. She buried her face in her hands, trembling with every sob that wracked her body.

Bonnie, Caroline, and Rebekah rushed to her side, each of them reaching out in concern. “Riena, are you okay?” Bonnie asked softly, kneeling beside her.

Caroline’s voice was laced with worry. “How do you feel? You almost died, sweetheart. We were all so scared.”

But Riena didn’t answer. She just cried, her shoulders shaking as the realization of what she had almost lost finally caught up with her. Her heart ached, and she couldn’t stop herself from trembling.

From across the room, Damon, Stefan, Alaric, and Finn stood frozen, their faces hard with anger and hurt. They watched Riena cry, and it broke something inside them. She was their little sister, their family, and seeing her like this—hurt, terrified—was more than they could bear.

Stefan stepped forward, his voice low and pained. “It’s Elena… She did this to her.”

Alaric nodded grimly. “We’ll deal with her. But right now, we need to focus on Riena.”

Damon’s fists clenched, his jaw tightening in anger. “When I get my hands on her…” He didn’t finish the thought, but the rage in his eyes was enough to say it all.

Riena’s sobs grew louder, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she clung to the fabric of her shirt, her trembling body unable to stop. She was scared. And seeing her like this… it was too much for everyone.

The room went quiet for a moment, and Riena felt the presence of her mates surround her. Kol was the first to kneel beside her, his voice gentle as he touched her face. “Riena…” He whispered softly, but his tone was filled with raw emotion. “You’re safe now. We’re here.”

Klaus was next, his golden eyes filled with worry and possessiveness as he gently pulled her into his arms, holding her close. “Shh, love. We won’t let anyone hurt you. Not ever again.”

Elijah’s voice was soothing, his hands gently running through her hair. “You’re not alone. We’ve got you. You’ve always been safe with us.”

Riena felt their arms around her, the warmth of their bodies grounding her in the chaos of her emotions. The soothing words from each of them seemed to calm her, but the fear and the sobs didn’t stop. She clung to them, feeling utterly vulnerable, but also loved—loved in a way that made her want to give in, to let the pain wash away.

“I’m scared…” she whispered between sobs. “I thought I was going to die…” Her voice broke, and she clutched at Kol’s chest. “I almost lost you all… I don’t want to lose anyone.”

Kol’s heart broke at her words, his lips brushing her forehead as he spoke. “You won’t lose us, Riena. We’re never leaving you. I promise.”

Klaus, holding her tighter, kissed the top of her head gently. “You’re our everything, Riena. Don’t ever doubt that.”

Elijah’s voice was soft, but strong. “We’re a team. We’ll protect you, no matter what.”

Riena, still trembling, looked up at them through tear-filled eyes. “Don’t leave me…”

“We won’t,” they all answered in unison, their words like a vow, their bodies close and firm around her.

Riena nodded slowly, feeling a small sense of peace begin to settle over her as she clung to the three of them. “Promise?” she whispered, her voice still shaky.

“We promise,” Kol said, his voice full of love. “We’re not going anywhere.”

After a long moment of comforting silence, Riena let out a deep, exhausted breath. “I’m so tired,” she murmured, her eyelids drooping despite her efforts to stay awake.

“I know, love,” Klaus whispered softly. “But you need to sleep. You’ve been through so much. Rest, and we’ll be here when you wake up.”

Riena shook her head slightly, still fearful. “I can’t sleep. Not yet. I need you here. All of you. Please don’t leave me.”

Her mates exchanged a glance, their protective instincts flaring. “We won’t leave you, Riena,” Elijah said, his voice gentle but firm. “We’ll stay right here.”

Damon, sensing the tension and how badly Riena needed to rest, stood up. “Alright, let’s get her some rest. We’re all tired, and she needs to recover. Kol, Klaus, Elijah—let’s move her to a room.”

Riena nodded gratefully, but she still couldn’t stop her body from shaking as they helped her up. Her legs felt weak, and the trauma she’d just experienced was still too fresh. But with her mates by her side, she felt a little stronger.

Once they were in the bedroom, her three mates made sure to carefully lay her down in the middle of the bed. Kol, Klaus, and Elijah climbed in beside her, enveloping her with their warmth, their bodies surrounding her like a protective shield. They kissed her softly, each of them taking turns brushing their lips against hers, whispering words of comfort and love.

“You’re safe here, Riena,” Klaus whispered, kissing her gently on the forehead. “We’re with you.”

Kol cupped her cheek softly, his lips brushing against hers. “I love you, Riena. Always.”

Elijah’s voice was low and soothing as he kissed her lips tenderly. “Rest now, my love. We’ll keep you safe.”

Riena, her body exhausted and her mind finally at ease, let out a soft sigh, her eyes fluttering closed as she finally allowed herself to fall asleep in the arms of her mates.

The room remained quiet as the three of them kept watch, their love and devotion to her unwavering. Their kisses continued, soft and comforting, as Riena finally drifted into a peaceful sleep.

After a while, Damon, Stefan, and Alaric entered the room, peeking in on the sleeping trio.

“Do you think they’ll be okay?” Alaric asked softly.

Damon looked at the scene before him—Kol, Klaus, and Elijah holding Riena so tenderly, their faces filled with concern even in sleep. “Yeah,” he said quietly, his voice thick with emotion. “They’ll be okay. And so will she. She’s in good hands.”

Stefan nodded. “I’ve never seen them like this before. They love her so much.”

Alaric smiled softly. “I think it’s beautiful. They’re her family. And that’s all that matters.”

Caroline, Rebekah, and Bonnie entered behind them, the trio of girls silently watching the scene before them. Seeing Riena so vulnerable had broken their hearts, but seeing her surrounded by so much love gave them a sense of hope.

“Should we take a picture?” Caroline whispered, her eyes bright with affection. “They look so cute together.”

Bonnie and Rebekah smiled, nodding in agreement. “I think they’ll want this,” Rebekah said, as they snapped a few photos of the sleeping group.

The scene was nothing short of tender. Riena was finally at peace, surrounded by those who loved her most.

And in that moment, everyone knew that no matter what challenges they would face in the future, they would face them together.
