Two Nickels, No Sense
Nickel's eccentric cousin, who looks, sounds, and even shares the same name as him, arrives at the hotel for a few days. Unlike Nickel, this doppelgänger is his complete opposite in personality, stirring up confusion as everyone mistakes him for the Nickel they know.
This fic will include the following: Nickloon (mainly) Bickel (briefly)

Balloon and Nickel had just wrapped up their usual breakfast together at the hotel. Balloon sipped on a cup of tea alongside some lightly toasted bread, while Nickel opted for a bowl of cereal. After cleaning up, the pair began heading back to their room. But something weighed heavily on Nickel's mind—a secret he had been carrying since the night before.
The troubling weight came from a text Nickel received, one that caused him to shut himself off completely. He knew he couldn't hide it forever, especially not from Balloon, but the thought of sharing it filled him with embarrassment.
As they walked, Nickel anxiously searched for the right moment to break the news. Deciding to keep it casual, he blurted it out as if it were no big deal.
"Uh, yeah, so... my cousin's coming to stay for a few days," he said, his tone deliberately nonchalant.
Balloon turned to him, eyebrows raised. "Cousin? I didn't even know you had a cousin..."
Nickel sighed, already regretting bringing it up. "Yeah, well, I do," he said shortly, clearly uncomfortable. The truth about this cousin wasn't exactly easy to share—because his cousin wasn't exactly normal. In fact, he was outrageously weird.
Balloon, persistent as ever, pressed for details. "Well? Who is he?" he asked. If this cousin was staying, they'd likely share the room with them, and Balloon needed to know who they were dealing with.
Nickel groaned, dreading the explanation. "He's just... a weird dork, okay? His name's also Nickel, and we're, uh, practically identical. It's not a big deal."
Balloon frowned, his frustration bubbling over. "Not a big deal? This is definitely a big deal! You can't just drop this on me last minute!"
By the time Balloon finished his sentence, they reached their room, only to notice the door slightly ajar. From inside, muffled bouncing noises could be heard. Nickel groaned, realizing his cousin had already arrived.
With an exasperated sigh, he kicked the door open to reveal the scene: his cousin, a bundle of energy, was bouncing wildly on the bed, performing flips and tricks as if it were a trampoline.
"WOWIE! Is this your boyfriend you told me about?" Cousin Nickel exclaimed mid-flip before launching himself off the bed and bounding over to Balloon. He looked up at him with a giant grin, his excitement uncontainable as he admired Balloon's bright, colorful appearance.
Balloon blinked in surprise, caught off guard by this hyperactive version of his boyfriend. He glanced at Nickel, then back at his lookalike. This was going to get confusing—very confusing—very quickly.
Nickel let out a long, exasperated sigh.
"This is my cousin, Nickel," he said flatly, gesturing toward the overly energetic coin. "He's... uh, on some reality show or something. Battle... for something, I don't know." Nickel rolled his eyes as he nudged his cousin away from Balloon with his foot.
"Don't annoy Balloon," he warned, his tone sharp.
"Oh, okay!" Cousin Nickel beamed, unfazed by his cousin's hostility. "It's Battle for Dream Island, by the way! Nice try, though! It's so cool to finally see where you live—and meet your boyfriend! He's so CUTE!" He darted forward, grabbing Balloon's cheek and giving it an enthusiastic squeeze.
