No perspective

"Ten minutes, Avery. You were supposed to be down at breakfast ten minutes ago. Come on out." Cameron, the boy's director, called out, banging on Avery's hotel room door. His frustration and a hint of concern increased when he received no response.

"Avery, everyone's coming back up in an hour. I expect you to be ready when they're done." He huffed a disappointed sigh, expecting better of her on her first official day.

Indiana sat at the table with the boys and Kaitlyn, worry overbearing her about why Avery hadn't woken up or responded to her texts. She looked down at her phone, no new notifications appeared. The table was quiet, the empty chair being on everyone's mind.

"One-night stand kinda girl?" Louis questioned, making Indiana's head go up. "Definitely not, I think I should go check on her." Indiana stood up, tucked her chair in, and rubbed her hands against her denim shorts. She walked out of the cafe across from the hotel. The breeze was cool, but the sun was still shining. Her white t-shirt and headband felt like they were clinging to her body as she tried to keep herself calm, what if something had happened to Avery? She waited at the start of the pedestrian crossing, waiting for the light to turn red. Her head turned towards the sound of a voice, female.

"Indiana? What are you doing out here?"

Avery Lewis

A massive failed attempt at filing a police report. It was like God himself was punishing me for trying.

I stepped out of the police precinct, not knowing where to go from here. As much as I said I wasn't cold to Harry, I really was. I just didn't want to admit he was right. I didn't feel like going back to the hotel room and having the slightest chance of bumping into him again, so I decided to keep walking. I wasn't in the mood to fight anymore.

I found myself sitting down on a water fountain, my feet touching the thousands of pennies that people have thrown in. My mind was a mess, millions of things crowding my thoughts that it hurt to think for myself.

"You look like shit."

The voice behind startled me, I turned towards it and found myself looking at a redhead who had the most gorgeous blue eyes I'd ever seen. She kicked off her red vans, her socks that had little cactuses on them now getting soaked when she dipped her feet in. We just sat there. But it was nice, not having to speak but having the company. She suddenly spoke, her question out of the blue.

"Would you rather have eyes for nipples or nipples for eyes?" I looked over at her, her expression serious.

"I guess, eyes for nipples, yeah," I answer. She nods, almost like an approval of my answer. "Could you imagine having nipples for eyes? It would be so weird. But then, if a guy took your top off, he would just see these eyes staring at him."

I laughed at her words, who was this girl? She started laughing with me when I said, "Is there even a right answer for this?"

She looks at me for a second, her red hair blowing into her face from the sudden wind. "There's always a right answer for everything."

I thought about what she said for a second, she was right, I had never thought of it like that.

"You're kind of smart," She smiles at me, "I've been told. What's your name? A mysterious girl who sits in fountains at three-thirty in the morning."

"Avery."

"Amber." I raise my eyebrow, looking at her hair and then back at her. "Is that because of?" I trail off.
