Aria’s Perspective

After getting freshened up, I plopped down on my bed and opened my laptop. It had been a while since I’d checked my emails, so I figured it was a good time. As I scrolled through the usual junk and spam, one subject line caught my attention, making me freeze. “Costa & Co Enterprises.” My heart raced as I clicked on it. My eyes widened as I read the subject line: “Calling for Interview.” My jaw dropped. I hurriedly scanned the email, reading it word for word. "Miss Aria, We hope this email finds you in good health. Our team has gone through your CV, and we are pleased to inform you that your interview is scheduled for Friday at 10:00 AM. Further details will be discussed during the interview. Regards, Manager James" I reread the email twice, my brain barely processing the words. Was this real? The company where the acceptance rate is only 5% wanted me for an interview? My dream job was suddenly within reach! I couldn’t stop the huge grin that spread across my face.

“Oh my God!” I exclaimed, grabbing my phone. I opened my WhatsApp group chat with Cynthia and Noah, my two closest people. I typed furiously, unable to contain my excitement. Me: “Guys!! You won’t believe what just happened! Costa & Co just emailed me! I have an interview this Friday!!!” Within seconds, my phone buzzed with replies.
Cynthia: “OMG ARIA!!! That’s AMAZING!! I’m so proud of you!!” Noah: “I knew you’d get it!! You’re brilliant, babe!!” I couldn’t stop smiling at their messages, feeling the rush of their excitement matching mine. Just then, my phone buzzed again, this time with an incoming call. It was Noah. “Hey,” I said, grinning as I answered. “Hey, Miss Genius,” he teased, his voice full of warmth. “Congratulations, my love. I’m so proud of you. I told you this was your year!”

I laughed, feeling my heart swell at his words. “Thank you! I can’t believe it’s actually happening, Noah. It’s Costa & Co! This is huge!” “It is huge,” he agreed. “And you deserve it more than anyone. I know you’ll nail that interview. They’d be idiots not to hire you.” His confidence in me made my smile grow even wider. “Thanks, Noah. That means so much to me. I’m going to prepare like crazy. I can’t mess this up.” “You won’t,” he said softly. “And even if you’re nervous, just remember how amazing you are. They’ll see it, too.” I felt a warmth spread through my chest. “You’re the best,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. “Only for you,” he replied with a chuckle. “Now go show them who’s boss. I’ll call later to check on you.” After we ended the call, I set my phone down, still smiling like an idiot. But I couldn’t waste time basking in the moment. I grabbed my laptop again. “Time to dig some information about the company to impress the interviewer,” I muttered to myself as I typed “Costa & Co Enterprises” into the search bar.

The company website popped up first. I clicked on it and began skimming through the About Us section. Their history, mission, and vision were laid out clearly, but nothing stood out as particularly unique. It was all very generic, stuff I already knew. I opened a few more tabs, scrolling through various articles and news about the company. Most of it was old news: the company’s global expansion, their success in the tech and finance industries, and their impressive market shares. But none of this would help me stand out in the interview. Then, I came across a relatively recent article. It mentioned that the former CEO had retired, and his son had taken over the business. My eyebrows furrowed as I tried to find more details about this new CEO. Who was he? What was his vision for the company?

Frustratingly, there was nothing....no name, no pictures, no interviews. It seemed like the new CEO was a mystery to the public. “Great,” I muttered sarcastically, frowning at the screen. “There goes my chance to impress my dream company.” I sighed in frustration, closing the browser tabs. How was I supposed to prepare for this interview without knowing what kind of leadership they had now? Shaking my head, I decided I’d focus on perfecting my responses instead. This was my dream job, and I wasn’t going to let a lack of information stop me. As I sat on my bed, lost in my thoughts, a sudden knock on the door snapped me out of my reverie. “Come in,” I called out, straightening myself. The door creaked open, and the maid stepped in, bowing slightly. “Miss Aria, the Don is home. Everyone is requesting your presence at dinner.”
