"JESS, MY MAN! HOW YA DOING?" mason calls out as he walks into the diner. he links in arm around jess' neck, a big smile on his face.

"better before you walked in." jess mumbled in response as he wipes down a table for them to sit at.

msson claps his hands together, "that's the happiness i've missed so much!" he teases, pulling out a chair for jess, gesturing for him to sit down.

jess sighs and sits in the chair, while mason pushes it in like a true gentleman, before he takes a seat of his own. "what do you want?" jess asks.

"to knock some sense in that dumbass head of yours." jess rolls his eyes at mason's words. "bro, you had such a good thing with olivia and you fumbled miserably."

"i know, i know. you don't have to remind me." jess sighed, if anything he's miserable. he's been staying up late, staring at via's contact, pondering what to say to her. jess knows he messed up, but he doesn't know how to fix it.

mason hesitates before continuing on. "jess, i'm telling you this as your friend. go get her." his voice sounds serious for once, which makes jess a little nervous.

"how can i? tell her that i love her or something?" jess asks, furrowing his eyebrows.

"ding, ding, ding!" mason exclaims, pointing his index finger at jess' face. "only say it if you mean it, though." he warns, leaning back in his seat.

jess nods, running a. anxious hand through his messy hair. he hasn't had the energy to do it the morning, so the gel on the sink stays untouched. "i do. i love her, mas." he confesses, and mason smiles.

"then tell her! show up at her door with her favorite flowers, maybe a book, apologize and confess your love. bada bing, bada boom, you got the girl back."
mason explains.

"i don't think it'll be that easy. i practically cheated on her." jess mumbled, slumping his shoulders.

mason huffs a laugh, "but now you have the chance to win back what you lost! c'mon, j, do it for liv." he pleads.

jess sighs, "fine. i guess i owe it to the both of us, don't i?" he caves, looking up at mason.

his friend nods in response, eager for them to make up. "hell yeah you do. you owe it to me to for putting me through all of that stress." he jokes, and both boys laugh.
