"Big brother, you should eat more," Leonia says as she watches Lou putting his portion on Leonia's plate yet again. "You're sick and I'm not."
Lou waves her worries off, "I'm fine. I can't stomach any of this anyways."
Leonia nags the taller boy more as she eats the extra portion she's been given.
They got back to the orphanage way before the sun was even near setting and Lou was correct, nobody noticed that they went to the forest—and even if they did—they didn't care because Lou and Leonia didn't get reprimanded by anyone.
"Do you think I have superpowers?" Leonia randomly asks during dinner. It's probably a continuation of the last conversation since they didn't get to talk on their way back.
Lou contemplates over telling Loenia about her Lion's Fang, but then it would be obvious which world they were in sooo, "I don't know, do you feel any different?"
Leonia stops and thinks for a minute, "not really. How did you find out yours?"
"Remember when I had to carry two buckets of water for Miss Bitch?" Leonia nods, "yeah, I found out then because those things were disproportionately light."
"What about the swiftness part?"
"Oh, that's when I ran away because she wanted me to do more errands for her."
Leonia hums, "Fair enough. I still think you should've just left her waiting in that darn bathhouse for hours."
Lou sighs, "As much as I would have loved to, I couldn't afford her getting angry and aiming it at the other kids."
The young girl laughs and nudges the boy, "you're such a worry wart!"
Lou shakes his head, "I think you don't know how unreasonable these bastards can be."
"Tell me about it, I'm still pissed at that old geezer that got mad at Pam. It was his fault, for goodness sake! And he's the one that got mad!" Leonia whisper-yells her frustration.
"God, I wish we could kill these fuckers... oh, speaking of murder, I wanna grab a weapon for emergencies, wanna help me with the kitchen tomorrow?"
"Of course," Leonia takes a bite of his food, "grab one for me too."
"Children shouldn't be near sharp objects~" Lou teases her.
"Just so you know I am well past my twenties in my old world," Leonia whispers angrily.
Dinner went smoothly after that. Nothing happened when they had to wash the dishes. Lou told Leonia to head back to the room first, he'll wash her dirty plate for her.
In the end, he ended up washing the dishes for everyone in the orphanage ( it was an excuse so that he can have access to the kitchen earlier and locate where the potential knives are stored ) He even got to meet the boy that ended up being sold by Miss Connie.
The brunette...? Ginger? Honestly, he couldn't tell in this lighting. Anyways, the boy is probably around the same age as Lou since they're about the same height.
Lou still, for the life of him, can not remember what his name was so he's just waiting for an opportunity to talk to him or either wait until he was picked for adoption for him to give him the warning and plan.
After successfully locating the knives, Lou went back to his room where the three kids were all waiting for him to come back.
"What took you so long?" Leonia asks.
"Reconnaissance, but never mind that, it seems like the three of you are getting along well." Lou smiles as he closes the door behind him.
"Me, Aelia and Ingrid were just talking about your singing."
