The afternoon light poured through the sheer curtains, bathing the living room in a soft, golden hue. The apartment was quiet, save for the hum of the TV and the occasional sound of Y/N's scrolling. She sat cross-legged on the couch, her phone in hand, thumbing through posts absentmindedly.

Across the room, Jungkook sprawled on the other end of the couch, remote in hand, flipping channels with no real interest. The faint sounds of static and snippets of shows filled the air between them.

It's too peaceful, Y/N thought, her mind drifting as her eyes skimmed the screen. The warmth of the sun and the soft cushions lulled her into a rare state of calm—a calm that shattered the moment Jungkook shifted closer.

"Whatcha looking at?" His voice was low and teasing, right near her ear.

Y/N jumped, clutching her phone against her chest as if protecting state secrets. "Nothing! Mind your business, Jungkook."

His grin was instant, wolfish. "Oh, it's something," he countered, his dark eyes glinting with mischief. He leaned in further, his chin practically resting on her shoulder now. "Wait... Is that their profile again? You're really stalking them, huh?"

Heat rose to Y/N's cheeks, and she twisted away from him, her laughter slipping out despite her best effort to sound annoyed. "I am not! Get off me!"

"Sure, you're not," he drawled, dragging out the words as if to prove his disbelief. His arm braced against the armrest, steadying him as he loomed over her. "Lemme see. Come on. Just a quick peek."

"You're impossible," Y/N muttered, swatting at him with her free hand. But her attempts were half-hearted; his proximity sent a flutter through her chest. Why does he have to sit so close? Why does he always smell so stupidly good? She tried to ignore the way her pulse sped up.

Jungkook grinned wider, clearly noticing her flustered state. "Admit it. You're obsessed."

Y/N shoved him harder this time, catching him off guard. He toppled back onto the couch dramatically, throwing an arm over his face. "You're so violent," he whined, peeking at her through his fingers. "This is why I can't trust you."

"Oh, please," Y/N shot back, grabbing a pillow from beside her. She hurled it at him, hitting him square in the chest. "That's for being nosy."

Jungkook sat up, clutching the pillow like it had wounded him. "Oh, it's war now, huh?" Without another word, he snatched the same pillow and hurled it back at her, laughing as she squealed and ducked.

"Childish!" Y/N shrieked, grabbing another pillow and lobbing it at him with all her might. The cushion sailed through the air, narrowly missing his head.

Jungkook laughed, his eyes alight with playful energy. "Missed me!" He grabbed a second pillow, now dual-wielding as he advanced toward her. "You're done for."

Y/N scrambled backward, still laughing uncontrollably. "You wouldn't dare!"

"Oh, I would." He lunged, hitting her lightly with one pillow while using the other to block her feeble counterattack. Feathers and laughter filled the room, both of them lost in the chaos of their impromptu battle. In a swift move, Jungkook caught her wrist mid-swing, grinning triumphantly. "Gotcha."

Y/N froze for a moment, her breath catching as their eyes met. His hand was warm against her skin, his hold firm but not rough. For a split second, the playful air between them shifted, growing heavier with an unspoken tension.
