It didn't take long for your slumber state to take you. The instant you calmed your racing mind, you were an unconscious beast. What came unpleasant was a gentle shaking on your shoulder with a soft mutter of your name near your ears about some hours of sleep. Your brain and eyes refuse to differ from dream and reality. Once the eyes finally opened, they met a concerned Aizawa who was holding your phone with a call in his ears. "Wake up... there has been an emergency at the hospital about your mother."
Your brain could barely catch up to his words as you ushered out to get up and freshen up a bit. It's not that you are not concerned but you were too tired to give more flying fucks about that woman's tantrum on a 7 a.m. of Sunday. Also, how did Aizawa get to your room to hear your phone rings when you can't? Probably because you are in fact a dead weight.
It was all a blur when you finally reached the hospital. A void sack of circles under your eyes with reddened eyeballs, chapped lips and probably smelling like a literal corpse, you were soon to find out the corpse in question, your mother had gone missing from the hospital without any notice. Aizawa leads to investigate the seemingly undisturbed bed. Your eyes scanned the scene, noticing the bed wasn't in total chaos but looks like she just got up and left. No signs of struggles, kidnapping, or attacks. The window looked undisturbed as well but it was too high for her to even jump off. Unless she magically grew wings then sure. Fly off somewhere far from you.
However, this just brings more chaos. Not only the victim is missing, but there's no exact lead on who attacked your mother either. Either this is a closed case for you and take her ownership under your name or you're next. You don't wanna be next. You really just wanted to be happy alone.
"Y/n, are you listening?" Aizawa's voice shortly brought your focused eyes away as you turned back to the hero. "Sorry... you were saying?" He sighed moving to your side. "I think we should let Hawks do the investigation. Be his client to open up a case for a missing person." You peeled your eyes away from his as you spoke quietly. "...or let her be.. she'll be back or something"
Aizawa felt uneasy with your words. How blunt and brute of you to say your mother's missing figure was... normal for you. It's as if nothing phased you. Maybe lack of sleep and more stress occupied your mind more than concern. You had been doing a lot of late-night training and aren't used to this kind of calls at ungodly hours in the mornings either. So, Aizawa didn't want to push you further to discuss the topic in hand instead he had to get you back home so you could rest properly. Then, with fresh eyes, he can get through the case for you. But judging from your reaction alone, you seemed dead set that you didn't want anything more to do with your mother. A bad past perhaps... which could be a lead to your history."Let's get you home... you look like shit"
"Take a look at yourself first"After about an hour of him yapping through other heroes and staff around the hospital for the disappearance, you have returned to your apartment. Aizawa had to drag your lousy ass to the apartment because you refused to see straight and walk. At one point he had to carry you on his back and finally put you down on your bed. You didn't spare a second glance to the man that brought you back to rest but he however did not complain about your action in any way. He had experienced much more uncooperating citizens and to him, you just looked like you have been through a lot to give a shit of more problems. He doesn't blame you, he'd done the same.
"Y/n... get some rest okay?" Your tired eyes just gazed aimlessly at the wall nearby unable to communicate with the man with your racing thoughts.
What would happen if she was never found? Could it be that the same attacker get her to comply to get you more money so she can get a share too? Is it her boyfriend this whole time who attacked her and they are both planning to squeeze out this money? Either way, you should probably answer back. "...I really don't wanna work with Hawks"
Aizawa sat on the floor having his back on the bed as he leaned on it. The rumbling of his hum echoed through the empty walls. "It'll be just for statements... he'd be doing any investigations relating," He said as he looked around the room. Fairly organized and notes lying around the table. Messy bits of sticky notes on the surface of the table. He had been doing this job for long enough that he knew this wasn't any office job. You were doing something unbeknown to his knowledge. Observing or not this should be discussed to find if any linkage between you had any effect on your past. Hawks only told him you have been watched for the last 2 years. In any case, your untrained investigation will bring more trouble for you. That is... if you are willing to accept his help.Noticing his turning head you were quick to take action. Putting a gentle hand on his shoulder you spoke, "...I'm sorry I just need some time alone" Only that messy black hair graced your vision. A husky voice spoke holding down your hand back. "Take good care of yourself... I'll be back tonight then"
You nodded as he got up from the floor eyeing you behind his unkept hair as he laid a hand on your head. Awkwardly it sat for a few moments before pulling away to shove it back in his pockets and leaving. Though you didn't hate the gesture, it made you smile a bit. He cares enough to comfort you in his own way. It just sucked. A gentle click of your room door and entrance door signified his leave. You have to apologize however, you are about to do something uncalled for. Closing your eyes you decided you'd rest before you get back to work. However, you took leave from your agency. Everything felt too draining. Too suffocating to do anything at all. But staying to just do nothing is such a waste. The stitched villain. Dabi, you wanted to know more. Once confirmed that Aizawa is gone, you make your way to your laptop, opening up to find some information. Dabi, there were little but many repeated posts and searches. How the man was the oldest child of the famous hero Endeavour and the older brother of Shoto, a friend you had seen with your U.A friends. The group of villains does show up as well, Paranormal Liberation Front. Organization of the Union villains that have participated in the Great War. It was major news, you have seen that 2 years ago during your studies. Everyone including you was anxious to see kids the same age around you fight. In a way, back then, you wondered why you were in the U.S with a business major than.. be a hero. Fought alongside them. Those thoughts were clearly shot away though. Who are you kidding? With what you have, as a quirk, who would even want to get your help? You of all people should know that.Uneasiness filled Aizawa's body. Nothing foreign but he had a nagging feeling about leaving you alone. Just in case you did any unspeakable thing, he had your location tracked. Earlier this morning when receiving the phone call, he was planning to wake you up. Or to see if you were okay and stumble upon your phone ringing the moment he stepped in. He didn't want to wake you so he decided to take this into his own hands.
"Is this Ms. L/n?" A young girl called out from another line through the phone. A worried voice shocked Aizawa as he spoke.
"I'm her acquaintance, Shota Aizawa. Is there any problem?" A relief sigh escaped from the younger girl as she spoke.
"Oh, Mr. Eraserhead. You see, the girl's mother has gone missing in the hospital and we needed to inform her about the situation. Pro hero Hawks said he will be sure to drop in for a statement issue."He wished you wouldn't have more to handle with your attackers and your mother. The least he could do was to protect you. As someone, he had saved for serval times, he felt a sense of duty to do more if it is counted for. It was peaceful, nothing on his phone to annoy him as he made his way home. He even managed to cook up some food and pack it up in a container for you to have later when he visited. He could get showered, get the kids fed, and actually try your quirk again with a fresh mind.
"You'll be fine with the kids for tonight right?" Aizawa spoke turning to Hizashi busy braiding the girl's hair as she played with the toys her loud uncle spoiled the two kids with. In Hizashi's defense of spoiling, what's the point of not using hero money for this. Aizawa didn't wanna argue since the kids really loved them.
"Yeah of course. Make sure she's well-fed and rested. She isn't made for such intense training with work on one side too" Hizashi said not looking back at Aizawa from his position.
"Hizashi.." Aizawa spoke when he finished packing a small bento for you. "I think she's hiding some information away from us." Hizashi hummed finishing up the girl's braids "..If she isn't willing to share, we'll just have to cut the routes she'll take in advance."══════ ∘◦❀◦∘ ══════
