Today Travis and Taylor are going in to get an 18 week ultrasound. She can't believe how quickly she's flying through her pregnancy. Everything's moving super-fast and it's scaring her. If she's completely honest, she feels like she's nowhere near ready for anything, and there's been more than a few nights where Travis has had to talk her out of a spiral about their lack of preparedness. She feels like she should be doing more, but the baby growing inside her has made her feel so exhausted every day. She's hungry, tired, and uncomfortable almost every moment. The swell of her stomach brings her a glimmer of joy when she remembers there's a baby growing inside.

As she gets dressed to leave the house, she throws on a sundress, something that feels baggy, so she doesn't have to stress about anyone noticing a slight bump. Taylor looks at herself in the bathroom mirror, trying to decide if she can visualise herself as a mother or not. She isn't sure she can see it yet, and that in of itself worries her. She must've been standing there for a little too long, because she hears a soft knock on her bathroom door.

"Tay?" Travis' voice floats through the door. "Are you alright?" She sighs, opening the door and coming face to face with him.

"Sorry, I got sidetracked. Are you ready to go?" She asks, brushing past him to grab some shoes out of her closet.

"Yeah! The car's waiting downstairs for us." He tells her. She nods, shoving her feet into her sandals and grabbing her phone.

"I'm ready, let's go." The pair head down into Taylor's garage, slipping into the backseat of the car.

The walk down to the garage wore her out, she could almost fall asleep as the car pulls out of the driveway.

"Trav?" She asks, looking sleepily over at him.

"Yeah?"

"Could you tell me something, anything? I can't fall asleep in this car, just distract me?"

"Okay, well, actually let me show you something." Travis pulls out his phone, fiddling with it for a moment. "Here." He hands it over to her. "My sister-in-law, Kylie, sent me a video of her three kids." The video starts playing and three girls appear on the screen, babbling away to each other while hosting a tea party. Taylor feels a warmth spread through her chest as she stares at three of the most adorable kids she's ever seen in her life.

"That one looks like you." She points at one of the three girls.

"That's Wyatt. She's got quite the personality on her." He says fondly, she knows he loves those girls so much. She's watched him talk to his brother more and more, always seeming lighter once her has.

"Oh, they're all gorgeous! Bean has built-in-playmates." She feels herself getting emotional.

"Yeah, bean does. They'll all be very excited to learn they're getting a cousin, I'm sure."

"We should probably start telling people." She yawns, handing Travis his phone back.

"Yeah, maybe after our appointment today? We should even know the gender." He suggests. Taylor just nods, leaning her head on his shoulder. "You sleeping?"

"I'm just resting my eyes." She says softly.

"I'll let you know when we arrive." He murmurs, letting her use him as a pillow.

She doesn't fall asleep, not properly anyway, because she feels the car stop. Her eyes flutter open, and she sits up. Through bleary eyes, she looks over at Travis.

"You ready?" He asks, offering his hand. She nods, accepting his offer and they slip out of the car together, hand-in-hand. They hurry into the waiting room which has been shut down for them again. They're let straight through to the doctors office, and she's ready and waiting for them.
